About the Role xAI's impact and productivity in the USG space depends on our ability to navigate the world of US Government security efficiently and responsibly. We're looking for a Facility Security Officer (FSO) who can both arbitrate policy and processes around personnel and clearances, and partner with our business leaders to plan for the future in support of our National Security Missions. As a FSO, you'll be part of our Security Team, which is responsible for managing our personnel clearance program and our secure facilities and systems. The team ensures compliance with security policies, regulations and processes within complex organizations, while also enabling xAI to get people and resources where we need them most. In this role, you'll provide outstanding knowledge and customer service to the xAI team members who depend on you to help them push the business forward. Our Facility Security Officers provide onsite support for all security actions in accordance with NISPOM and other Federal government security regulations. FSOs will serve as the liaison with US government counterparts, conduct security briefings and debriefings, monitor classified controlled areas, and perform periodic self-inspections. Essential Duties Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time preferred, but not required Clearance Required: Active US Top Secret or Top Secret / SCI clearance, with eligibility and willingness to obtain other clearances as needed with other government entities. Perform all security operations including personnel clearance processing , tracking, education, reporting, debriefs and any other duties administratively. Process necessary badges, visit requests and certifications for government facilities. Daily use of personnel clearance data systems - DISS/NBIS and E-qip and other security software in the performance of assigned duties. Prepare, issue and maintain DD254s. Maintain classified materials receipt, logging, control, and dissemination. Maintain accountability of classified government-furnished information and equipment. Participate in and perform inspections and audits. Maintain certification and accreditation of the facilities eligibility as well as personnel. Create and update security plans, procedures, and instructions. Develop and administer a comprehensive security education training program. Maintain and coordinate excellent working relationships with government agencies. Assure compliance with all government and company security regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements This position requires a BA or BS degree and at least 5 years of experience with industrial security, NISPOM, COMSEC programs, clearance processing, document control, and physical security; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years experience in an AFSO or FSO capacity, possessing facility preferred Experience in the U.S. Government, DoD, Intelligence, or contractor community in security management. Experience in Industrial Security with associated training and credentials. Expertise in navigating DISS, SWFT, e-QIP, ACCS and similar USG systems Ability to be present onsite at a given facility within a 30-minute response time, with potential on call duties during after-hours, weekends, and holidays Successful completion of the following CDSE courses: Essentials of Industrial Security Management Protecting Secret and Classified Documents FSO Program Management NSA COMSEC Custodian Academy FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities. About the Role

xAI's impact and productivity in the USG space depends on our ability to navigate the world of US Government security efficiently and responsibly. We're looking for a Facility Security Officer (FSO) who can both arbitrate policy and processes around personnel and clearances, and partner with our business leaders to plan for the future in support of our National Security Missions.

As a FSO, you'll be part of our Security Team, which is responsible for managing our personnel clearance program and our secure facilities and systems. The team ensures compliance with security policies, regulations and processes within complex organizations, while also enabling xAI to get people and resources where we need them most. In this role, you'll provide outstanding knowledge and customer service to the xAI team members who depend on you to help them push the business forward.

Our Facility Security Officers provide onsite support for all security actions in accordance with NISPOM and other Federal government security regulations. FSOs will serve as the liaison with US government counterparts, conduct security briefings and debriefings, monitor classified controlled areas, and perform periodic self-inspections.

Essential Duties

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time preferred, but not required
  • Clearance Required: Active US Top Secret or Top Secret / SCI clearance, with eligibility and willingness to obtain other clearances as needed with other government entities.
  • Perform all security operations including personnel clearance processing , tracking, education, reporting, debriefs and any other duties administratively.
  • Process necessary badges, visit requests and certifications for government facilities.
  • Daily use of personnel clearance data systems - DISS/NBIS and E-qip and other security software in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Prepare, issue and maintain DD254s.
  • Maintain classified materials receipt, logging, control, and dissemination.
  • Maintain accountability of classified government-furnished information and equipment.
  • Participate in and perform inspections and audits.
  • Maintain certification and accreditation of the facilities eligibility as well as personnel.
  • Create and update security plans, procedures, and instructions.
  • Develop and administer a comprehensive security education training program.
  • Maintain and coordinate excellent working relationships with government agencies.
  • Assure compliance with all government and company security regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • This position requires a BA or BS degree and at least 5 years of experience with industrial security, NISPOM, COMSEC programs, clearance processing, document control, and physical security; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years experience in an AFSO or FSO capacity, possessing facility preferred
  • Experience in the U.S. Government, DoD, Intelligence, or contractor community in security management.
  • Experience in Industrial Security with associated training and credentials.
  • Expertise in navigating DISS, SWFT, e-QIP, ACCS and similar USG systems
  • Ability to be present onsite at a given facility within a 30-minute response time, with potential on call duties during after-hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Successful completion of the following CDSE courses:
  • Essentials of Industrial Security Management
  • Protecting Secret and Classified Documents
  • FSO Program Management
  • NSA COMSEC Custodian Academy
  • FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities.
  • Familiarity with NISPOM and DCID guidance documents.
  • Proficiency with using the following tools:
  • DCSA Defense Information Security System (DISS)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
