In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative security solutions that ensure the security, compliance, and integrity of VMware's Cloud Foundation platform. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to build cutting-edge security technologies that address the complex security challenges in the cloud and virtualization ecosystem. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain security features within VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and associated technologies. Develop, test, and deploy security solutions that address critical security requirements including data encryption, authentication, access control, and vulnerability management. Work closely with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to define security requirements and ensure the security of the VCF platform. Identify security risks in the platform and create innovative, scalable solutions to mitigate those risks. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to align platform development with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and improving overall system security performance. Stay up to date on the latest trends in cloud security and cybersecurity threats, and incorporate these into product designs. Qualifications: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. with 12+ /10+ years of software development experience with at least 3 years of experience in security software development Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C/C++, Python or Go. Experience with security practices and technologies such as encryption, PKI, IAM, network security, and secure coding. Experience with VMware products (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, etc.) or similar cloud-native environments. Knowledge of cloud architectures, virtualization, containerization (Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure security best practices. Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as FIPS, STIG, CIS, NIST, or ISO 27001. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically about security vulnerabilities and risk mitigation strategies. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) architecture and components. Experience in contributing to open-source security projects or standards. We are seeking an experienced Security Software Development Engineer to join the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Platform Security team in VCF Division. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative security solutions that ensure the security, compliance, and integrity of VMware's Cloud Foundation platform. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to build cutting-edge security technologies that address the complex security challenges in the cloud and virtualization ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain security features within VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and associated technologies.

  • Develop, test, and deploy security solutions that address critical security requirements including data encryption, authentication, access control, and vulnerability management.

  • Work closely with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to define security requirements and ensure the security of the VCF platform.

  • Identify security risks in the platform and create innovative, scalable solutions to mitigate those risks.

  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to align platform development with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

  • Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and improving overall system security performance.

  • Stay up to date on the latest trends in cloud security and cybersecurity threats, and incorporate these into product designs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. with

  • 12+ /10+ years of software development experience with at least 3 years of experience in security software development

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C/C++, Python or Go.

  • Experience with security practices and technologies such as encryption, PKI, IAM, network security, and secure coding.

  • Experience with VMware products (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, etc.) or similar cloud-native environments.

  • Knowledge of cloud architectures, virtualization, containerization (Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure security best practices.

  • Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as FIPS, STIG, CIS, NIST, or ISO 27001.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically about security vulnerabilities and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) architecture and components.

  • Experience in contributing to open-source security projects or standards.

  • Linux Systems Programming experience

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $141,300 - $226,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
