Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in construction accounting, specifically accounting for Work-In-Progress (WIP) jobs, job costing, and expense tracking. A high level of proficiency in Excel is essential. The right person will be comfortable with technology and eager to leverage data to optimize processes and support strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Oversee and manage Work-In-Progress (WIP) accounting for multiple projects, including tracking job progress, costs, and profitability.
  • Conduct job costing and expense allocation to ensure accurate job financials.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, job cost reports, and WIP reports to provide insights on project performance.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including expense management, invoicing, and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions, to build, manage, and analyze data sets.
  • Work with various software tools and systems to support efficient data processing and reporting.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives by implementing technology-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to provide financial insights that support project success.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree a plus but not required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of job costing, and expense allocation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with Power Query, pivot tables, and data sets.
  • Comfortable with technology and ability to quickly learn new software or systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online accounting software
  • Experience with data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • CPA or CMA designation is not required.
