Job description We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual with a passion for the cannabis industry, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a willingness to learn and grow within the role. The Post Harvest Support will play a crucial role in assisting both the Post Harvest Manager and the Post Harvest Lead in maintaining the efficiency and quality of post-harvest operations. This person will work under the guidance of the Post Harvest Manager and the Post-Harvest Lead to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to quality control standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in post-harvest cannabis processing, gain valuable experience in handling and curing cannabis plants, and contribute to the quality and consistency of our final product. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Assist in the trimming process, both hand trimming and machine trimming, as directed by the Post Harvest Manager. Support the implementation of quality control procedures under the guidance of the Post Harvest Manager. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the post-harvest area. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow. Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to post-harvest activities. Compliance Responsibilities Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to maintain quality standards. Physical Requirements Manual Dexterity and Hand Strength Ability to handle delicate cannabis flower with care for trimming, bucking, and sorting. Fine motor skills for detailed work like trimming leaves and removing stems. Standing and Sitting for Extended Periods Capability to stand, sit, or move intermittently for 6-8 hours per shift, depending on task assignment. Some tasks require sitting at a trimming table, while others require standing. Lifting and Carrying Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30-50 lbs , including trays, bins, or bulk containers of flower. Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching for items at various heights. Repetitive Motions Frequent use of hands and wrists for trimming, sorting, and packaging tasks. Repeated bending and reaching during harvesting and drying processes. Pace and Attention to Detail Ability to work at a consistent, steady pace while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Capacity to focus on high-quality standards and avoid damage to flower. Visual and Quality Inspection Skills Sharp attention to quality standards to ensure consistency and compliance. Ability to visually inspect and sort flower based on appearance, size, and quality. Working Conditions Indoor, Controlled Environment Work is conducted inside a climate-controlled processing facility with regulated temperature and humidity to ensure product quality.   Clean and Hygienic Work Areas Strict sanitation protocols required (e.g., gloves, hairnets, lab coats). Regular cleaning and sterilization to maintain product integrity and quality. Moderate Noise Levels Background noise from trimming machines, ventilation, or other post-harvest equipment. Ear protection may be provided in specific areas if needed. Odor Exposure Constant exposure to the smell of cannabis, especially during trimming, drying, and curing. Employees should be comfortable with the strong odor of cannabis. Fast-Paced, Team-Oriented Work High-volume processing work that requires collaboration with team members. Ability to stay organized and coordinate with others under tight deadlines. Regulatory and Compliance-Based Work Adherence to local cannabis regulations, particularly around handling, labeling, and tracking harvested product. Consistent monitoring for safety and quality compliance standards. ​​​​​​​ Ergonomic Considerations Anti-fatigue mats and adjustable workstations may be provided to reduce strain from standing or sitting for extended periods. Employees must follow safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and handling of trimming equipment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.  21 years of age, or older. Prior experience in cannabis industry, preferred. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Attention to detail and willingness to learn. Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. The Post Harvest Support will play a crucial role in assisting both the Post Harvest Manager and the Post Harvest Lead in maintaining the efficiency and quality of post-harvest operations.
