Department Specific Functions: This joint postdoctoral fellowship between the Department of Medical Education and the Department of Informatics and Health Data Science at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine offers a unique opportunity to advance the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and emerging digital technologies in medical education. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work at the intersection of digital health, informatics, and education innovation, leveraging advanced AI methodologies to transform health professions training. This is a HYBRID position. The Postdoctoral Scholar will serve as a key contributor to AI and data science initiatives across the departments and will: Support the development of new AI-driven curricula and assessment frameworks for health professions education. Design, develop and apply AI solutions including traditional machine learning models, natural language processing (NLP), and ontology-based frameworks to enhance simulation, curriculum development, and personalized learning in health professions education. Develop and evaluate AI-powered tools such as chatbots, automated feedback systems, and adaptive and precision learning pathways, to enhance student engagement, knowledge retention, and competency-based education. Conduct cutting-edge research in AI-enhanced educational methodologies, data analytics, and digital learning platforms. Lead and contribute to grant proposals and peer-reviewed publications to secure funding and disseminate findings focused on AI and informatics-driven educational innovations. Integrate large-scale educational and clinical datasets into AI-driven learning systems to improve decision-making and training efficacy using best practices in information systems management. Create, implement and evaluate the impact of AI-enhanced generative assessment tools to enhance simulation-based training, virtual patients, and decision support systems to ensure real-time skill development in clinical education. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the Miller School of Medicine, UHealth, and industry partners to co-design and pilot new AI-driven curricula and educational technologies across the medical school and health system. Contribute to the development of institutional policy, ethical frameworks, and best practices related to the use of AI in medical education. Establish an independent research agenda under the mentorship of faculty from both departments, aligned with the university's strategic vision for AI-powered medical education. This position provides mentored career development in a dynamic and rapidly evolving field, with opportunities to contribute to high-impact initiatives that redefine the future of medical education. Proficiency in classical machine learning techniques such as regression, clustering, and related methods Experience working with clinical data and/or data from health professions education. Engineering a world of possibilities The Mines Oceanography research group invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in air-sea interactions, focusing on extreme weather. The successful candidate's responsibility will be to assess the impact of ocean surface gravity waves on mediating air-sea fluxes at high winds, combining tools from coupled numerical modeling, observations, and theory. The project is part of the "Study on Air-Sea Coupling with Waves, Turbulence, and Clouds at High Winds (SASCWATCH)" sponsored by the Office of Naval Research and it involves researchers from several institutions. You can read more about the project here. We seek an individual holding a PhD in physical oceanography, atmospheric sciences, fluid dynamics, computer sciences, or a related discipline. The candidate should have a background in most of the following areas: physical oceanography, geophysical fluid dynamics, ocean waves, air-sea interactions, linear algebra, foundational probability and statistics, and analysis of oceanographic data. Strong programming skills and experience running numerical models are expected. The Senior Advisor/Director Post approval scientist in Global Regulatory Affairs - CMC commercial solid oral products will use CMC technical knowledge and regulatory science expertise to drive regulatory CMC strategies and develop post approval and lifecycle regulatory strategies and submissions for Lilly's commercial solid oral products. The regulatory scientist will be encouraged to demonstrate innovative regulatory strategies that support the lifecycle of the assigned product(s). Key responsibilities: Deep technical knowledge of solid oral products CMC science and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of global CMC regulatory requirements and guidelines for reporting post approval changes and updating global product registrations. Develop and evaluate global CMC regulatory strategies in collaboration with other regulatory, manufacturing, quality and project personnel to enable timely completion of submission milestones leading to health authoring approval. Development of regulatory strategy and update strategy based upon global regulatory changes. Provide regulatory guidance to allow CMC teams to make informed decisions on global registrations and product lifecycle planning. Anticipate and resolve key technical or operational issues that could impact the function, CMC team and/or submission timing. Take on and independently manage challenging projects and identify creative and/or alternative solutions that support functional and partner organization requirements. Take a proactive leadership role in the critical review of molecule specific CMC development strategies and submission content for registration, post-approval changes, line extensions or renewals, and responses to questions. Make decisions on CMC regulatory strategies impacting product submissions across geographies and networks for alignment with CMC team members. Engage in site-specific regulatory activities to ensure maintaining registered commitments at the manufacturing site(s) for which they have responsibility for. Basic Qualifications/Requirements B.S. degree in a science, engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred). Fields of study include Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Sciences, Biology, or similar. 5+ years of Regulatory CMC experience and/or equivalent (such as time spent in supporting CMC functions for commercialization of solid oral products with regulatory submission experience). Additional Skills/Preferences Demonstrated deep technical knowledge and experience of small molecule drug product development, commercialization and manufacturing processes. Department Specific Functions:

This joint postdoctoral fellowship between the Department of Medical Education and the Department of Informatics and Health Data Science at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine offers a unique opportunity to advance the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and emerging digital technologies in medical education. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work at the intersection of digital health, informatics, and education innovation, leveraging advanced AI methodologies to transform health professions training. This is a HYBRID position.

The Postdoctoral Scholar will serve as a key contributor to AI and data science initiatives across the departments and will:

  • Support the development of new AI-driven curricula and assessment frameworks for health professions education.

  • Design, develop and apply AI solutions including traditional machine learning models, natural language processing (NLP), and ontology-based frameworks to enhance simulation, curriculum development, and personalized learning in health professions education.

  • Develop and evaluate AI-powered tools such as chatbots, automated feedback systems, and adaptive and precision learning pathways, to enhance student engagement, knowledge retention, and competency-based education.

  • Conduct cutting-edge research in AI-enhanced educational methodologies, data analytics, and digital learning platforms.

  • Lead and contribute to grant proposals and peer-reviewed publications to secure funding and disseminate findings focused on AI and informatics-driven educational innovations.

  • Integrate large-scale educational and clinical datasets into AI-driven learning systems to improve decision-making and training efficacy using best practices in information systems management.

  • Create, implement and evaluate the impact of AI-enhanced generative assessment tools to enhance simulation-based training, virtual patients, and decision support systems to ensure real-time skill development in clinical education.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the Miller School of Medicine, UHealth, and industry partners to co-design and pilot new AI-driven curricula and educational technologies across the medical school and health system.

  • Contribute to the development of institutional policy, ethical frameworks, and best practices related to the use of AI in medical education.

  • Establish an independent research agenda under the mentorship of faculty from both departments, aligned with the university's strategic vision for AI-powered medical education.

Provide fundamental training by interdisciplinary faculty in the area of informatics and health data science research using translational, population health, and health equity methods and practices. Provide individualized academic coaching to mentees while developing skills needed to develop independent research career Guide mentees in the preparation and presentation of posters and oral presentations at scientific and professional conferences. Support the conceptualization and authorship of in innovative peer-reviewed research publications Mentor Postdocs through the grant development process, including applications for F, K, or R-series awards and other career development mechanism

Required

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate research findings effectively through oral presentation and peer-reviewed publications.

  • Proven experience working independently and collaboratively manner with diverse, interdisciplinary teams of scientists and clinicians.

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting reproducible scientific research.

  • Experience authoring scientific manuscripts and contributing to grant writing.

  • Active experience with AI model development, including fine-tuning, applying and evaluating large language models for tasks such as information extraction, summarization, and other biomedical or clinical applications.

  • Proficiency in classical machine learning techniques such as regression, clustering, and related methods

  • Experience working with clinical data and/or data from health professions education.

Desired

  • Experience teaching or mentoring at the undergraduate or graduate level.

  • Experience with applying AI and data science in health professions education, particularly in areas such as assessment, teaching, equity, and ethical frameworks.

  • Proficiency in Python and experience with relevant libraries for AI/ML development.

  • Experience with advanced AI methodologies including deep learning, transfer learning, and neural networks.

  • Understanding of the software development cycle (SDLC) and experience applying it to research or educational software projects.

  • Experience with -omics data analysis, AI-based computational modeling, virtual compound screening, and/or analysis of high-throughput data screening.
