CMA is hiring an Electrical Designer to work in the Power Delivery industry. This position will work on Transmission, Distribution, and Protection & Control projects for municipalities and Investor-owned utilities within the Southeastern United States. Candidates should be able to efficiently plan and organize their workload with their team, demonstrate success working with a team of professionals, a commitment to quality, good communication skills, and a positive work ethic. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use CADD software to develop engineering plans (AutoCAD, Microstation, Vizio)
  • Plotting, reproducing and organizing drawings for internal and external use.
  • Learn and adhere to different client specific standards.
  • Coordinate with team members and client representatives.
  • Periodic travel to project sites for field investigation with an Engineer to get a better understanding of the work to be done.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AutoCAD and/or Microstation skills, including drawing creation, editing and plotting to specific CADD standards.
  • The ability to navigate and learn computer-based software.
  • Develop schematic and wiring diagrams.
  • Assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and other related tasks.
  • Develop project specific detail drawings.
  • Calculate project construction quantity estimates.
  • An understanding of engineered drawings, scales, coordinates and dimensions.
  • Willing to learn the overall project goals to help convey the engineered design concepts.
  • An understanding of three-phase power and AC/DC circuit fundamentals
  • Knowledge of any NESC, NEC, ANSI and IEEE standards

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A two-year technical degree or certificate
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply complex systems
