Requirements: Candidate shall possess a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or technology from an EAC/ABET certified program. Candidate has obtained a PE license. Contribute to the development of schematic designs, design development sets , and construction documents. Follow your projections from inception to construction completion. Participate in project team meetings and help facilitate communication across architecture, and engineering teams. Review submittals and assist with construction-phase services, including shop drawing review and field punch lists. Apply working knowledge of the NEC and other Michigan codes to ensure compliance and system performance. Grow your knowledge of building systems, client interaction, and multi-discipline coordination. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution 4+ years of experience in electrical systems design for buildings (power, lighting, controls, fire alarm, data) Experienced in AutoCAD or Revit and familiar with construction documentation Experience with the NEC and other Michigan electrical related codes Experience participating in construction phase services. Job Description

We are offering a $5,000 Sign On bonus for this position.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Facilities Engineering and Design service business, you will be working on electrical only designs and many times with a team of mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, and fire protection engineers to develop design documents for a large variety of clients and project types. You will also be communicating and coordinating with architectural firms and other engineering disciplines as needed to integrate electrical systems into buildings, roadways, site developments, etc.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead an electrical design team to engineer and specify power, fire alarm, lighting, telecom, and security systems for commercial, institutional, higher education, governmental, and retail clients.
  • Complete analyses of electrical distribution systems, electrical load calculations, photometric calculations for lighting systems, short-circuit/arc flash studies, and building specialty systems.
  • Perform building code reviews and energy code compliance calculations.
  • Conduct onsite existing condition surveys and construction observations.
  • Lead/assist with the development of qualifications and proposals.
  • Manage single and multi-discipline design teams.

Requirements:

  • Candidate shall possess a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or technology from an EAC/ABET certified program.
  • Candidate has obtained a PE license.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
  • 10+ years' experience with the design of electrical systems
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of tools
