What To Expect Day-To-Day: This person is a technical lead as part of a multi-discipline project team on projects in the Buildings, Energy, and Infrastructure group, in support of Mechanical (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) systems for facility types including healthcare; higher education; institutional facilities; federal, state and local government; K-12 education and other commercial/industrial facilities. This person may serve as the Lead Mechanical Engineer for projects, producing design/construction drawings and specifications and ability to act as the Engineer of Record for the work they perform and the subordinates they supervise. Acts as the Client interface for projects they lead. Undertakes and directs evaluations of mechanical equipment/systems and prepares design computations and assessments. Generates and oversees mechanical design/construction drawings utilizing REVIT and AutoCAD software. Observes mechanical construction progress and generates field observation reports. Assesses the condition of mechanical systems within existing facilities. Responsible for completion of mechanical design tasks within budget and on schedule. Assists in the development of subordinate staff in mechanical design best practices. Communicates and coordinates the design, writing of reports and correspondence with other discipline professionals, as well as representatives of the Client's organization to complete work efficiently. Stays current with local, state & federal design standards and regulations. Helps develop new work and clients related to mechanical design services for healthcare; higher education; institutional facilities; federal, state and local government; K-12 education & support; and other commercial/industrial facilities. What You Need: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering with mechanical focus, from an ABET-accredited university. 8-15 years of documented applicable experience working on facilities similar to those described above. Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida, with current NCEES. Resides in the Tamp Bay/Clearwater Area with Florda based experience Ability to work in person a minimum of three (3) days weekly in our Clearwater office. Ability to travel to project locations and client meetings throughout southwest, central, east and north Florida. Travel beyond this primary area may occasionally also be required. Significant experience using Autodesk REVIT gained in a similar design-related field. Experience with AutoCAD is also required. Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software, as well as Bluebeam. Strong knowledge of the ASHRAE Standards commensurate with their years of experience. Ability to climb ladders and perform field survey duties. Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record. GROUND SYSTEMS ELECTRICAL ENGINEER II Based out of Rocket Lab's Test Facility at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, the Ground Systems Electrical Engineer II is responsible for critical test facilities to support the Archimedes rocket engine and the Neutron launch vehicle. You will work from conceptual design through build-out and activation of a brand new, from the ground up test facility. You will support the Fluid Systems and Propulsion organizations through delivery of functional ground systems required to perform necessary hot fire tests and checkout functions to ensure successful development and operations of engines and vehicle systems. You will become skilled in Test Operations roles and be expected to work independently in support of the overall test facility design, build and activation efforts! JOB INFORMATION Job Title: Engineer Staff Grade: Exempt 56 Job Code: 125852 JOB SUMMARY Develops plans and specifications, performs analysis, and provides reports on assigned tasks involving design and construction of new facilities or operation and maintenance of existing facilities. Technically involved in the resolution of equipment and operational problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, performing design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project.. LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY General responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under limited supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems. Refers the more complex issues to higher levels. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. Some latitude for deviation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists upper level engineers as directed while developing specialized engineering skills. Prepares engineering analysis for small/routine projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection. Supports company safety programs and initiatives by following all EHS and Operating procedures and adhering to established design standards. All other duties as assigned. Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices. Reviews and critiques proposed changes to engineering standards, policies and guidelines. Prepare and interpret schematics, drawings, layouts and other visual aids. Conducts surveys to gather field data. Coordinates the activities of the design and construction teams. Manages budgets, schedules, and resources for small to medium sized projects. Ensures construction documentation and manifest process has completed in accordance with standards. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or PE), And 2 years related engineering experience (which may include non-Engineer experience such as Engineering Internship, Design, Drafting, and Engineering Tech experience. This type of experience will be counted at half rate.) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university Experience in power plant, petrochemical plant, or heavy industrial manufacturing (shipbuilding, mining, or steel production) Experience in testing, designing, and/or commissioning electrical equipment and apparatus (motors, transformers, motor control centers, isolated phase bus, generator circuit breaker, power distribution, or control systems). Experience performing short circuit, load flow, transient, and/or arc flash analysis in either SKM or ETAP. WORKING CONDITIONS May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather. May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces. May require travel. May be required to work non-standard hours, holidays, and schedules. Paper mill and power plant PLC, automation, and controls. Paper mill and power plant DCS / QCS computers and control systems. Paper mill and power plant UPS systems. Paper mill and power plant EPA and DHEC instrumentation PM compliance. Paper mill radiation equipment compliance. Paper mill and power plant instrumentation. This includes flow, level, temperature, pressure transmitters and control elements (valves, actuators, etc.) on steam, condensate, pulp, black liquor, water, etc. Paper machine and power plant AC and DC drives and motor control systems, on low- and medium-voltage equipment. Configure and troubleshoot using local interface and communication software. Examples include paper machine speed and torque drives, power plant feedwater drives, and mill bridge crane drives. Programmable Logic Controllers, including communication software and HMI controls. Paper machine scanners. This includes all gauging sensors (basis weight, caliper, moisture, etc.) and sheet controls (headbox, rewet systems, headbox and vat actuators, steamboxes, etc.). Ignition systems and air fuel ration systems (kiln, boilers, spray farm, etc.). Assistance on paper mill and power plant hydraulic and pneumatic systems. What To Expect Day-To-Day:

  • This person is a technical lead as part of a multi-discipline project team on projects in the Buildings, Energy, and Infrastructure group, in support of Mechanical (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) systems for facility types including healthcare; higher education; institutional facilities; federal, state and local government; K-12 education and other commercial/industrial facilities.
  • This person may serve as the Lead Mechanical Engineer for projects, producing design/construction drawings and specifications and ability to act as the Engineer of Record for the work they perform and the subordinates they supervise.
  • Acts as the Client interface for projects they lead.
  • Undertakes and directs evaluations of mechanical equipment/systems and prepares design computations and assessments.
  • Generates and oversees mechanical design/construction drawings utilizing REVIT and AutoCAD software.
  • Observes mechanical construction progress and generates field observation reports.
  • Assesses the condition of mechanical systems within existing facilities.
  • Responsible for completion of mechanical design tasks within budget and on schedule.
  • Assists in the development of subordinate staff in mechanical design best practices.
  • Communicates and coordinates the design, writing of reports and correspondence with other discipline professionals, as well as representatives of the Client's organization to complete work efficiently.
  • Stays current with local, state & federal design standards and regulations.
  • Helps develop new work and clients related to mechanical design services for healthcare; higher education; institutional facilities; federal, state and local government; K-12 education & support; and other commercial/industrial facilities.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering with mechanical focus, from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 8-15 years of documented applicable experience working on facilities similar to those described above.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida, with current NCEES.
  • Resides in the Tamp Bay/Clearwater Area with Florda based experience
  • Ability to work in person a minimum of three (3) days weekly in our Clearwater office.
  • Ability to travel to project locations and client meetings throughout southwest, central, east and north Florida. Travel beyond this primary area may occasionally also be required.
  • Significant experience using Autodesk REVIT gained in a similar design-related field. Experience with AutoCAD is also required.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software, as well as Bluebeam.
  • Strong knowledge of the ASHRAE Standards commensurate with their years of experience.
  • Ability to climb ladders and perform field survey duties.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
