About Electrical Engineer (Staff or Senior) Position Ideal candidate would be based at Alpharetta corporate office. Though this position may be based remotely along Colonial's Pipeline and open to relocation consideration. Depending on the candidate pool this position may be filled at the Staff or Senior Level As an Electrical Engineer, you will perform various engineering design and technical analysis activities. This position provides electrical engineering technical expertise, leadership, and engineering analysis to complete a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying electrical engineering techniques and analyses to improve facilities safety, reliability, & efficiency. The Electrical Staff Engineer is proficient in the utilization of accepted engineering theories and practices, understands and analyzes complex electrical issues including power systems up to the 230 kV range: Electrical Engineering Studies, including Short Circuit, Load Flow, Arc Fault Analysis, Power Factor correction and Protective Device Coordination. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you a subject matter expert and will serve as a mentor to other team members. What You Get to Do: Participate on teams to evaluate/implement/upgrade specialty engineered equipment such as low and medium voltage switchgear, high voltage substations, large induction motors, soft starts, VFDs, UPS, PLCs, automation equipment, etc. Participate in troubleshooting electrical problems; lead the analysis of electrical equipment including large motors root cause failure and motor sizing / interchange; develop alternatives and propose & implement solutions for long-term reliability. Perform engineering design, develop, and review preventive maintenance procedures, perform system integrity reviews, and technical analysis activities. Respond to technical inquiries, make technical recommendations, improve design tools, and develop design procedures. Utilize system operating philosophies, design parameters, engineering standards and good engineering practices and workflow processes in performing assigned duties. Conduct studies to improve facilities safety, reliability, & economics, utilizing Colonial's operating philosophies, design parameters, engineering standards, workflow processes, and recommended practices for design and analysis. Prepare information to be shown on design drawings; coordinate design work with other engineers, designers, and drafters; review design drawings for quality, accuracy, and completeness; and approve drawings for release to construction vendor. Prepare information to be included in specifications; coordinate work with administrative assistants; review work for quality, accuracy, and completeness; and approve specifications for release to vendors and contractors. Monitor and record vendor equipment testing at the factory before shipment to job site for installation; monitor and record critical equipment installations and testing at the job site during installation. Periodic monitoring of adherence to design drawings throughout construction; and coordinate the development of facility as-built drawings when installations are complete at the job site. Facilitate meetings of cross-functional teams, support Colonial's organizational structure, and its corporate policies and procedures. Teach/mentor others. What You Bring to the Table: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education. Ideally, 8+ years in Electrical Engineering in Energy Production/related industry or approximately 5+ years in Electrical Engineering in the Oil and Gas industry. Ability to travel up to 25-30% of the time. Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution design and equipment, and applicable US Electrical Codes and Standards (IEEE, NEC). Knowledge of General Industry and Oil/Gas codes and standards (NFPA, NEMA, IEC, API, CFR Part 195, etc.). Knowledge and practice of Electrical Safe Work Practices, Electrical systems Modelling software (e.g., ETAP), and Digital Protective Relays (e.g., GE Multilin, SEL). Knowledgeable and skilled in incident analyses. This role will serve a dual function, acting as both an asset maintenance coordinator as well as subject matter expert on the electrical trade, answering on behalf of the site to state and local agencies. Ensure that proper permits and/or labels are obtained and properly posted, and signs permits prior to requesting an inspection Plan, design, and layout electrical installations, either new or modifications, in conjunction with plant engineering Develop plans for maintenance downturns, major plant shutdowns and CAPEX repair projects for assigned assets Develop maintenance budgets for assigned assets including maintenance CAPEX repair projects Coordinate all electrical inspections, annual or as needed and ensure corrections issued by the inspecting jurisdiction, are completed in a timely manner Effectively manage and develop plans for inspections, monitor and evaluate results; plans should include predictive and preventative maintenance for assigned assets Monitor and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for assigned tasks Other duties as assigned Requirements Current Oregon General Supervising Electrician License or Oregon Limited Supervising Electrician License Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the NEC and Oregon Rule & Law Minimum of eight (8) years' experience working as a Journeyman Electrical Craftsperson in an industrial manufacturing environment Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools Strong computer skills in MS Excel, Projects and PowerPoint Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others to achieve shared objectives Takes a proactive approach to influence and balance stakeholder expectations Demonstrated ability to develop others through coaching and feedback Understanding of equipment technologies and limitations, and their effect on safety, quality, productivity, and cost Our total compensation package includes amazing benefits! About Electrical Engineer (Staff or Senior) Position

Ideal candidate would be based at Alpharetta corporate office. Though this position may be based remotely along Colonial's Pipeline and open to relocation consideration.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will perform various engineering design and technical analysis activities. This position provides electrical engineering technical expertise, leadership, and engineering analysis to complete a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying electrical engineering techniques and analyses to improve facilities safety, reliability, & efficiency. The Electrical Staff Engineer is proficient in the utilization of accepted engineering theories and practices, understands and analyzes complex electrical issues including power systems up to the 230 kV range: Electrical Engineering Studies, including Short Circuit, Load Flow, Arc Fault Analysis, Power Factor correction and Protective Device Coordination. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you a subject matter expert and will serve as a mentor to other team members.

  • Participate on teams to evaluate/implement/upgrade specialty engineered equipment such as low and medium voltage switchgear, high voltage substations, large induction motors, soft starts, VFDs, UPS, PLCs, automation equipment, etc.
  • Participate in troubleshooting electrical problems; lead the analysis of electrical equipment including large motors root cause failure and motor sizing / interchange; develop alternatives and propose & implement solutions for long-term reliability.
  • Perform engineering design, develop, and review preventive maintenance procedures, perform system integrity reviews, and technical analysis activities.
  • Respond to technical inquiries, make technical recommendations, improve design tools, and develop design procedures.
  • Utilize system operating philosophies, design parameters, engineering standards and good engineering practices and workflow processes in performing assigned duties.
  • Conduct studies to improve facilities safety, reliability, & economics, utilizing Colonial's operating philosophies, design parameters, engineering standards, workflow processes, and recommended practices for design and analysis.
  • Prepare information to be shown on design drawings; coordinate design work with other engineers, designers, and drafters; review design drawings for quality, accuracy, and completeness; and approve drawings for release to construction vendor.
  • Prepare information to be included in specifications; coordinate work with administrative assistants; review work for quality, accuracy, and completeness; and approve specifications for release to vendors and contractors.
  • Monitor and record vendor equipment testing at the factory before shipment to job site for installation; monitor and record critical equipment installations and testing at the job site during installation.
  • Periodic monitoring of adherence to design drawings throughout construction; and coordinate the development of facility as-built drawings when installations are complete at the job site.
  • Facilitate meetings of cross-functional teams, support Colonial's organizational structure, and its corporate policies and procedures. Teach/mentor others.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.
  • Ideally, 8+ years in Electrical Engineering in Energy Production/related industry or approximately 5+ years in Electrical Engineering in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Ability to travel up to 25-30% of the time.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution design and equipment, and applicable US Electrical Codes and Standards (IEEE, NEC).
  • Knowledge of General Industry and Oil/Gas codes and standards (NFPA, NEMA, IEC, API, CFR Part 195, etc.).
  • Knowledge and practice of Electrical Safe Work Practices, Electrical systems Modelling software (e.g., ETAP), and Digital Protective Relays (e.g., GE Multilin, SEL).
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in incident analyses.
