Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Electrical Estimator to join our team in Flowood, MS. This is a fast-paced role supporting the estimating department in preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates for commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate thrives under deadlines, adapts quickly to changing priorities, and is eager to grow within a dynamic electrical contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of electrical cost estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals

  • Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and estimating software

  • Support senior estimators with project analysis, scope reviews, and pricing

  • Utilize McCormick and Accubid to develop detailed estimates and material pricing

  • Review electrical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and PDF-based plans

  • Maintain organized estimate files, databases, and historical cost data

  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and lead times

  • Work efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment

  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and internal estimate reviews as needed

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in electrical estimating, construction estimating, or a related field (preferred)

  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam, AutoCAD, McCormick, and Accubid

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and construction documents

  • Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously in a fast-paced setting

  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial or industrial electrical projects

  • Electrical field experience or relevant technical education

  • Familiarity with local and regional construction markets
