FMM is a maintenance and construction company servicing both residential and commercial clients nationwide. Job Summary : Responsible for assisting Electrician in servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, or installing electrical components in a residential or commercial setting. Technician may be assigned to one or multiple jobs and must be available for after-hour emergency calls on occasion. The person who occupies this position must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such an individual or others in the workplace. This means that the individual must not pose a significant risk of substantial harm to the health or safety of the individual or others that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodations. The below description shall not be construed as a complete listing of all miscellaneous, incidental, or similar duties, which may be required from day to day. Essential Job Duties : ( Included but not limited to) Must possess the ability to assist the lead Electrician in the following: Planning the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures Using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Place conduit and pipes, in walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Must possess the ability to learn and follow directives from leads. Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes. Perform electrical inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. Install and connect wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures. Test electrical systems for functionality and safety Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area. Pre-job and Pre-task Planning Identify behavior and conditions, which jeopardize the safety of others. Question the need for additional safety precautions, if believed to be necessary for the safe completion of the job. Inspect all tools and equipment before each use to ensure good working conditions. Comply with site safety rules by following procedures and by wearing the prescribed PPE. Never take directions or changes to assigned work from Client personnel without first checking with the Supervisor. Attend daily toolbox safety meetings and scheduled training sessions. Inspect their work site continuously to ensure that unsafe conditions do not exist. Required Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience: Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment. Must have knowledge of safety rules and regulations and learn client and company policy. FMM is seeking a motivated professional to fill our Electrical Apprentice position. FMM is a maintenance and construction company servicing both residential and commercial clients nationwide. 
Job Summary: Responsible for assisting Electrician in servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, or installing electrical components in a residential or commercial setting. Technician may be assigned to one or multiple jobs and must be available for after-hour emergency calls on occasion. The person who occupies this position must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such an individual or others in the workplace. This means that the individual must not pose a significant risk of substantial harm to the health or safety of the individual or others that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodations. The below description shall not be construed as a complete listing of all miscellaneous, incidental, or similar duties, which may be required from day to day. 
Essential Job Duties: (Included but not limited to) Must possess the ability to assist the lead Electrician in the following: 
  • Planning the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. 
  • connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. 
  • Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures
  • Using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Place conduit and pipes, in walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. 
  • Must possess the ability to learn and follow directives from leads.
  • Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Perform electrical inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Install and connect wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures.
  • Test electrical systems for functionality and safety
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area.
  • Pre-job and Pre-task Planning
  • Identify behavior and conditions, which jeopardize the safety of others.
  • Question the need for additional safety precautions, if believed to be necessary for the safe completion of the job.
  • Inspect all tools and equipment before each use to ensure good working conditions.
  • Comply with site safety rules by following procedures and by wearing the prescribed PPE.
  • Never take directions or changes to assigned work from Client personnel without first checking with the Supervisor.
  • Attend daily toolbox safety meetings and scheduled training sessions.
  • Inspect their work site continuously to ensure that unsafe conditions do not exist.
Required Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience:
  • Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment.
  • Must have knowledge of safety rules and regulations and learn client and company policy.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions using FMM's core values of Quality, Teamwork, Pride, Passion, and Integrity
  • Proficient in computer, text, and email skills
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Proficient in using power tools and electrical testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Experience working with high voltage and low voltage systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles and concepts
  • Ability to build and install electrical systems in commercial and residential settings.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Basic knowledge of frame carpentry for installation purposes
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to pass a Fit for Duty Screening
  • Position will require working in all weather (hot/cold muddy) conditions.
  • High noise environment
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; and working around construction machinery.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms, and legs
  • Hand/eye coordination
  • Hearing and comprehension are necessary for giving and receiving directions.
  • Will be performing tasks involving physical labor on construction projects.
  • May operate hand and power tools of all types.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry objects on a frequent basis.
  • Position may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing /pulling, or standing and lifting. 
Mental Requirements:
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Must have the ability to talk and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Reading and writing comprehension are necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and our safety policy.
  • Ability to use math calculations.
  • Must be able to work at various tempos and concentrate amid distractions.
  • Decision making skills necessary.
  • Detail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe details.
