Essential Functions Experience in rigid conduit, motors, motor controls, along with associated field analog/digital control devices. Must be familiar with wiring process for transformers. Able to work with plant engineers on projects and drawings throughout the installation phase. Ability to read and understand drawings marking up as built red lines for return to customers upon completion of projects. Provide leadership that results in a safe, positive, and respectful work culture amongst the crews. Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff engaged in laying out, installing, and repairing of wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment to ensure that work is performed safely, correctly, and timely. Inspects quality of all work to ensure company standards and project specifications are met. Reviews materials received at jobsite to ensure it is correct and not defective. Ensure that all initial safety and hazard assestments (JHA's and Worksite Safety Inspections) are completed before work begins. Excellent communication skills; ability to assist workers respectfully. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Discipline Estimator, Electrical/Instrumentation/Power with a strong background in project controls to join our team. This position will be located in Arlington, Virginia and will report to the Vice President, Estimating. The Discipline Estimator will be responsible for the power, electrical and instrumentation estimates for the LNG facilities as well as the power estimates for the support facilities and will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs and timelines, contributing to effective project planning and decision-making. The ideal candidate should possess a keen attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of project management principles. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements, scope, and specifications. Analyze project documentation, including drawings, contracts, and technical documents, to develop comprehensive estimates. Utilize industry-specific software and tools to create accurate cost breakdowns, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement and construction specialists to ensure alignment of estimates with project goals and objectives, in l in e with area of responsibility. Identify potential risks and uncertainties that could impact project costs and schedules. Assist in the evaluation of bid proposals by providing analysis of cost estimates and supporting documentation. Continuously monitor and update estimate details as new information becomes available for their area of expertise. Participate in regular project review meetings to provide insights into cost-related matters and to adjust estimates based on project progress. Assist in the collation and summarization of historical information related to their field of specialty and assist with the creation of benchmark information for estimate comparison and analysis Other duties as needed Job Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven track record of estimating and project controls experience in construction, engineering, or a related industry. Experience in Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation estimating as well as Power production industry, preferred Strong proficiency in project estimation software, cost modeling tools, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and trends related to cost estimation and project controls. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing project requirements. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple estimates and priorities simultaneously Additional Information: This is a full-time position in the office. The mission of this role is to develop and execute electrical validation tests to quantify parametric device performance and margins over all system conditions. The validation team holds customers' requirements in the highest regard and is solely responsible for certifying a product's parametric conformance to this high bar. At Astera Labs, we are looking for motivated Senior Post-Silicon Validation Engineers to work on our game-changing portfolio of connectivity products for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications. In this role you will formulate a comprehensive post-Silicon validation plan, automate the testing of ICs and board products, design experiments to root-cause unexpected behavior, report results and specification compliance, and work with key internal customers to quantify margins and ensure robustness.

Basic qualifications

  • Strong academic and technical background in Electrical or Computer Engineering. At minimum, a Bachelor's is required, and a Master's is preferred.
  • ≥5 years experience supporting or developing complex SoC/silicon products for Server, Storage, and/or Networking applications.
  • Professional attitude with the ability to prioritize a dynamic list of multiple tasks, to plan and prepare for internal meetings in advance, and to work with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Entrepreneurial, open-mind behavior and can-do attitude. Think and act with the customer in mind!
  • Proven track record solving problems independently, preferably as a tech lead

Required experience

  • Familiarity with DDR memory standards and experience in system testing, characterization, margin analysis and optimization
  • Working knowledge of key, high-speed design blocks such as PLL's, DFE, Tx EQ
  • Strong python scripting ability: knowledge of object-oriented programming and basic dev ops using git for source control and collaboration
  • Deep background in developing bench automation techniques, preferably using Python, with emphasis on execution efficiency, repeatability, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency using high-speed lab equipment such as BERT, Oscilloscope, and VNA

Preferred experience

  • Hands-on experience with signal integrity, especially as it relates to multi-rank DDR and DDR termination schemes
  • Working knowledge of C or C++ for embedded FW
  • Familiarity with PCIe/CXL compliance standards and ability to drive electrical compliance testing at industry workshops
  • Experience working with DRAM memory vendors on DDR4 or DDR5 to identify issues and working with internal SoC HW/FW teams to improve memory calibration and tuning sequences
  • Working knowledge of common serial data specifications such as I2C, SPI, etc
  • Knowledge of memory subsystem compliance from a data integrity and RAS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout tools from Cadence, Altium, etc.
  • Knowledge of simulation tools such as MATLAB, Keysight ADS, PLTS for data analysis and modeling of signal integrity issues
