Periodic review of work done by less experienced engineers is required. 5+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent working knowledge/experience) Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to obtain licenses in multiple states, if needed. Incumbent must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments. Ash & Harris Executive Search is looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician / PLC Systems Repair Specialist

Overview:Join a leading manufacturer of advanced materials for high-stress environments in aerospace, defense, medical technology, and clean energy. This is a full-time, on-site role at a union facility where you will be a core member of the maintenance team, supporting critical manufacturing and production operations. The position offers a competitive base salary, a sign-on bonus, and overtime eligibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, test, maintain, and repair electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, including motor drives and combustion systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), primarily Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems, using software such as RSLogix, Studio 5000, and TIA Portal.
  • Lead or serve as a team member to inspect and troubleshoot electrical/electronic malfunctions using diagnostic instruments like oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ammeters.
  • Replace defective components and wiring, and adjust mechanical parts using hand tools and soldering irons.
  • Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment according to specifications, maintaining detailed records of all work performed.
  • Utilize computer-based diagnostics to troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade process control equipment and PLCs.
  • Instruct maintenance crews and collaborate with production teams for diagnostics and testing.

Requirements:

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An Associate's Degree in an electrical or mechanical field can substitute for experience.

Experiences

  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Proven experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley and Siemens highly preferred).
  • Experience with PLC programming software (e.g., RSLogix, Studio 5000, TIA Portal) is a significant advantage.

Other

  • Must be proficient in repairing and maintaining complex electrical/electronic systems, including PLCs and motor drives.
  • This is an on-site role with no travel required.
