Job Title Electrical Project Engineer Job Description We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer I (mid-level) that will support the North American Amazon RMR project Team. Vanderlande’s Amazon RMR team is responsible for the design, specification, and commissioning of Amazon RMR projects throughout North America. You will be responsible for ensuring the design meets the customer requirements, is coordinated with other trades to minimize conflicts during installation, can be installed with efficiency, and maintain excellent communication with the site team. Success in this role involves the ability to balance the technical requirements of the role while also having the soft skills to collaborate with the customer, vendor and internal organization to balance priorities, improve processes and satisfy a complex set of goals. Success will require strong technical skills, creativity, strong interpersonal skills, drive, and passion. A successful candidate will demonstrate a keen intuition for when to attempt to solve problems on their own and when to enlist the help of other experienced leaders. Key Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Develop code compliant electrical systems that meet the customer specifications If necessary translate sales drawings and specifications into a fully functional mechanical system description which can be translated to an Request for Proposal (RfP) which can be used by Project Procurement. We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer I (mid-level) that will support the North American Amazon RMR project Team.

the soft skills to collaborate with the customer, vendor and internal organization to balance priorities, improve processes and satisfy a complex set of goals.  Success will require strong technical skills, creativity, strong interpersonal skills, drive, and passion.  A successful candidate will demonstrate a keen intuition for when to attempt to solve problems on their own and when to enlist the help of other experienced leaders. 

Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Develop code compliant electrical systems that meet the customer specifications
  • If necessary translate sales drawings and specifications into a fully functional mechanical system description which can be translated to an Request for Proposal (RfP) which can be used by Project Procurement.
  • Optimize the system functionality from as-sold to a working electrical design within the budget in consultation with other disciplines (Mechanical, Controls, Supply Chain, Installation, etc.)
  • Perform system and component level calculations to size components and equipment for the application (conductor sizing, voltage drop, motor starters, overcurrent and short circuit protection, control panels, control networks, etc.)
  • Engineering of project specials needed for non-standard design applications
  • Apply safety regulations
  • Specify the electrical equipment required for the complete electrical system that operates and controls both Vanderlande manufactured, and third party purchased items
  • Use software tools (AutoCAD Electrical, Word, Excel, etc.) to develop electrical designs such as wiring diagrams, termination lists, Bill of Materials, etc.
  • Document all engineering decisions through design plans, complete and clear installation files, and engineering instructions directed to a site supervisor and installation subcontractor
  • Travel to site as needed to conduct site surveys
  • Support the installation and commissioning both on site, and from the Marietta, GA office
  • Project document control using a rights-based database system

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology 
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
