Provides electrical conduit bending and wiring support for the final assembly department. The job requires daily manufacturing responsibilities that are expected to be carried out with minimal supervision. Learn More POWERING THE RIG As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Durin, you will design and implement the electrical systems that power and control the world's most advanced drilling rigs. Responsibilities range from control panel design and harness routing to selecting power distribution components that operate reliably in rugged conditions. Note: You don't need mining or drilling experience to excel in this role. WHAT YOU'LL DO Design electrical layouts and schematics for drilling equipment, including power distribution, controls, and instrumentation Specify and source electrical components (switchgear, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, cables) aligned with rig requirements Develop wiring diagrams, harness routings, and cabinet layouts, ensuring maintainability and compliance Coordinate with controls/software teams to integrate I/O points, safety circuits, and communication networks Perform load calculations, short-circuit/arc flash analysis, and ensure systems meet relevant codes (NEC, NFPA) Provide field support for commissioning, troubleshooting, and iterative improvements Build alongside the best engineers, explorers, and operators in the world. Proficiency with CAD tools for electrical design (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical). Knowledge of PLC I/O wiring, instrumentation selection, and grounding/shielding best practices. Familiarity with relevant standards (NEC, UL508A, CE) and safe working practices. Comfortable working with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical and controls aspects. Experience diagnosing complex electrical issues in demanding field environments.
