The Electrical Supervisor assists with the electrical team's understanding of the production process and leads troubleshooting and repair of electrical, controls, and some mechanical aspects of production and facilities equipment on assigned shifts. This position provides technical support to Production team members, analyzes production data, and improves safety, uptime, quality, energy consumption, tool change cycle times, and other operational metrics. Responsibilities Organizes a team of electricians actively involved in various craft specialties, to include input on evaluations and weekly time approval. Responsible for shift schedule to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back up for absent employees and rotating shifts Diagnoses, delegates, instructs and carries out skilled activities involving the repair, installation, calibration, and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Guarantees adherence to safety practices and principles, and maintains electrical equipment to the relevant Federal, State, and Local Codes. Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot/ repair ENI, HMI, PLC's maintenance VFD's, motor controls, and instrumentation Creates and manages work/emergency work orders and prioritizes daily and preventative assignments. Monitors production process operating parameters and makes appropriate adjustments to ensure safe and efficient equipment performanc Participate in root cause problem solving and equipment performance improvement efforts to support target OEE levels Identify corrective action and troubleshooting and to improve reliability of equipment Supervise, train, to include continuous training and coach employees to accomplish productivity, safety, quality and efficiency objectives Coordinating during shutdowns, and conduct shift meetings Upkeep of reporting, records and schematics, documentation of inspections, and confined space monitors Escalate & communicate operational information and issues promptly for proper resolution Supports the production team in improvements to all aspects of production as needed. Perform all additional duties as assigned and special projects such as safety projects. Qualifications At least two (2) years manufacturing Experience At least four years of electrical experience Must demonstrate an electrical aptitude and experience working with high voltages (480V to 4160V) Ability to carry out operations safely and efficiently; utilize assigned appliances and tools. Strong analytical skills, problem solving and communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain accurate records Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge. Ability to interpret sketches, blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders Ability to interpret, illustrate, and apply regulation codes and rules. Willing and able to maintain and enforce strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including safety equipment. Availability to provide necessary coverage in a continuous operational plant. Working conditions Must be able to work in outdoor environments and in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees. Working at heights and confined spaces Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight on assigned shifts or to address unexpected issues with or without notice Physical requirements Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting and pulling up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day. Summary of Role: GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab8, Malta, NY, seeks a Facilities Electrical System Engineer. Deliver Facilities operation & engineering services, building/office space management services, and facilities equipment asset maintenance management to enable manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for ongoing operations and working on the design, construction, and startup of GLOBALFOUNDRIES electrical systems in support of our wafer fabrication facility. Deliver quality awareness training and support process improvement activities at the supplier. Manage and coordinate supplier Parts Per Million (PPM), supplier problem-solving, cost recovery, and supplier warranty indicators. Ensure incoming quality of assigned commodity parts received from suppliers and internal factories. Review internal components rejections and take appropriate actions. Impose Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) on suppliers for major issues by coordinating with Purchase and Finance departments. You have: Academic background in Diploma / Bachelor of Engineering (BE / B. Tech) in Electrical / Electronics /E&TC. Previous experience in or with 6 or more years work experience in manufacturing areas Supplier quality, IQC, Manufacturing Quality & NPD Quality (Mainly wire harness PCBA and Outlets). Job Description

We are the world's largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, which provide a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels.

The Electrical Supervisor assists with the electrical team's understanding of the production process and leads troubleshooting and repair of electrical, controls, and some mechanical aspects of production and facilities equipment on assigned shifts. This position provides technical support to Production team members, analyzes production data, and improves safety, uptime, quality, energy consumption, tool change cycle times, and other operational metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes a team of electricians actively involved in various craft specialties, to include input on evaluations and weekly time approval.
  • Responsible for shift schedule to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back up for absent employees and rotating shifts
  • Diagnoses, delegates, instructs and carries out skilled activities involving the repair, installation, calibration, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Guarantees adherence to safety practices and principles, and maintains electrical equipment to the relevant Federal, State, and Local Codes.
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot/ repair ENI, HMI, PLC's maintenance VFD's, motor controls, and instrumentation
  • Creates and manages work/emergency work orders and prioritizes daily and preventative assignments.
  • Monitors production process operating parameters and makes appropriate adjustments to ensure safe and efficient equipment performanc
  • Participate in root cause problem solving and equipment performance improvement efforts to support target OEE levels
  • Identify corrective action and troubleshooting and to improve reliability of equipment
  • Supervise, train, to include continuous training and coach employees to accomplish productivity, safety, quality and efficiency objectives
  • Coordinating during shutdowns, and conduct shift meetings
  • Upkeep of reporting, records and schematics, documentation of inspections, and confined space monitors
  • Escalate & communicate operational information and issues promptly for proper resolution
  • Supports the production team in improvements to all aspects of production as needed.
  • Perform all additional duties as assigned and special projects such as safety projects.

Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years manufacturing Experience
  • At least four years of electrical experience
  • Must demonstrate an electrical aptitude and experience working with high voltages (480V to 4160V)
  • Ability to carry out operations safely and efficiently; utilize assigned appliances and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain accurate records
  • Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to interpret sketches, blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders
  • Ability to interpret, illustrate, and apply regulation codes and rules.
  • Willing and able to maintain and enforce strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including safety equipment.
  • Availability to provide necessary coverage in a continuous operational plant.

Preferred Qualifications - What Sets You Apart

  • High School degree or equivalent plus four (4) years of progressively responsible journey level electrical experience
  • OR Associate's degree in related field, plus two (2) years of experience
  • Experience in wood products, pelletizing operations, or similar manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in mathematics and measurements
  • Experience in PLC programming and working with automated, controls, instrumentation devices and electrical distribution equipment
  • Computer knowledge; MS Office 365, email, teams, etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership including lead person or supervisor back up experience.

Working conditions

  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Willing and able to work in hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
  • Occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • Working at heights and confined spaces
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight on assigned shifts or to address unexpected issues with or without notice

Physical requirements

  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting and pulling up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA.
  • Ability to work from heights and confined spaces.
  • Able to climb multiple flights of steps, ramps, vertical ladders, scaffolds (fixed or portable).
  • Able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to perform work while wearing PPE including Arc Flash protection.
