In this role, your expertise will be critical in reducing daily electrical concerns on the production line, improving First Time Through (FTT) rates, and maintaining essential test equipment such as end-of-line systems, TPMS, and flashing stations.    You Will: Communicate feedback from test systems to leaders to improve quality & FTT Ensure the team is addressing and incorporating top internal and external indicators Provide test system results to other teams (e.g., powertrain, handles/locks/mechanisms, exterior ornamentation, chassis and interior) Chart EOL first run issues Train electrical repair and inspection personnel on all new model changes Assist repair personnel with difficult-to-diagnose vehicles Ensure availability of latest diagnostic equipment Supervise first run issues at all EOL testing and MES control points Maintain ongoing communication with repair operators to identify high repeat repair items Identify design related issues to software Involve supplier quality and Incoming Quality to resolve quality related issues Coordinate internal plant resources (IT, maintenance, production) Serve as subject matter expert for all equipment maintenance and functional issues Ensure enough equipment is production ready at all times Report software issues to integration team Work with NPI (new product introduction) team to coordinate testing prior to introduction to full production You Bring: Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline is required Minimum 2-4 years manufacturing or related experience. Job Description

Our client in Oakland County, MI is seeking a Project Engineer to join their growing Electrical and Controls Engineering Department!

Position Duties

  • Create bid documents (Scope of Work) for contractors to quote projects
  • Review of Contractor's design approval submittal of PLC programs, GDU screens and “for construction” drawings per the Owner's Specifications
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley software and logic format
  • Travel to OEM vendor sites to review equipment (Electrical/ Controls)
  • Review facilities field conditions using “for construction” drawings, standard specifications and installation codes and document discrepancies by supplying a field report with photos to the Owner.
  • On-site trip to verify “as-built” drawings and verify / test operation during system start-up
  • Compare and review field mark-ups to final documentation submittal of “as-installed” drawings

Skills and Experience Required: 

  • Rockwell Control Logix and general control panel design layout
  • Knowledge of plant/facilities coordinating with automation engineers and contractors as an Owner representative
  • Must gain knowledge of corporate specifications and electrical codes
  • Knowledge is a must – for conveyors, facilities equipment
  • Must be self-motivated, with strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
