Job Summary: Work with engineers and designers to execute and own project hardware design. Communicate appropriate project details with Zepnick team and customer to ensure accurate, high quality and timely work. Lead sections of design reviews with clients for scope you developed. Document and file all design calculations. Develop detailed construction demo and installation documentation and instructions. Develop detailed demolition and installation drawing packages. Develop panel layouts. Develop conduit layouts / wire pull schedules / power supplied loading and watts loss panel heat calculations. Qualifications: A Two-Year Degree in Applicable Field 3 Years Pulp/Paper Industry Experience in packaging, converting, material handling or custom automation equipment. We are currently hiring for: Job Title: PLC/Electrical Technician Job Summary: The PLC/Electrical Technician will be detail oriented, results driven, and possess the aptitude to learn and train new skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. With experience in electrical and mechanical (Mechatronics) engineering, the PLC/Electrical Technician will be adept at leading teams and promoting a culture of responsiveness, adaptability, and accountability. The technician will also be proficient in verbal and written communication, and able to compile and interpret reports containing complex metrics and productivity data. In addition to being dependable, their work will be of a consistently high quality even in the face of changing and diverse demands. Compensation Details: Hourly rate of pay is between $34.71 - 50.28 per hour depending on years of experience. Job Responsibilities: Work in partnership with the Operations Manager and Specialty Line Supervisor to establish processes and best practices for meeting production expectations on all assigned machines, including both fully automated and fully staffed sandwich production lines. Design, upgrade, repair, program, and troubleshoot controls for machinery and equipment used in processing, packaging, storage, or plant utility. Perform various activities relative to the installation, automation, and integration of new or relocated machinery. Advise contractors, management, maintenance personnel, and operators on machine operation and control issues. Installation and maintenance of programming software on department laptop. Backup and archiving of all automation files. Proven proficiency in application, programming, and wiring of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and Servos, preferably Allen Bradley. Experience and technical expertise in electrical wiring and power distribution. Familiarity with NEC and NFP70E Ensure all electrical, automation, and network systems meet OSHA, NEC, FDA, USDA and GMP regulations Troubleshooting experience with relay logic and three-phase contactors up to 480v. Strong electrical drawing interpretation skills used to trouble-shoot and modify equipment. Work with Fanuc Robots and other robotic equipment to make minor programming changes and support process improvements. Work with Rockwell Call Center and OEM technical support teams to assist in upgrades and optimization of the OT Network Monitor and assess the integrity and performance of a fully automated assembly line, including slicing equipment, conveyors, robotics, and vacuum sealers. Use common assembly, hand and power tools, drills, conduit benders, pipe threading equipment and measuring devices such as voltmeters and continuity testers as required. Identify areas of weakness in the production line or finished products and making recommendations for improvement. Understand problems or client briefs and developing solutions that satisfy them. Select the required tools and materials for the manufacturing process. Design, develop, and enhance electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices. Create automated systems and the software to control them. Drive continual improvement in quality, productivity, efficiency and cost. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Partner with all departments of the organization. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to work extended hours and weekends if needed. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred. Minimum of 3 years experience working in a fast-paced production environment preferred. Experience leading teams of more than five people preferred. Computer experience - Google Suite, Leading 2 Lean. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to lead, motivate and develop others. Ability to work in a fast paced environment of continuous change and challenges. Must be authorized to work in the United States. No sponsorships are available. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to provide own hand tools. Experience in food manufacturing or process is a plus. Must be able to work with limited supervision. Must be able to climb ladders and do work on aerial work platforms as needed. Summary: The Electrical Instrumentation Technician position is a maintenance crew member assigned to perform maintenance which includes areas of expertise in electrical maintenance and installation, instrumentation, controls, PLC/DCS programming and troubleshooting. Job Summary:

  • Work with engineers and designers to execute and own project hardware design.
  • Communicate appropriate project details with Zepnick team and customer to ensure accurate, high quality and timely work.
  • Lead sections of design reviews with clients for scope you developed.
  • Document and file all design calculations.
  • Develop detailed construction demo and installation documentation and instructions.
  • Develop detailed demolition and installation drawing packages.
  • Develop panel layouts.
  • Develop conduit layouts / wire pull schedules / power supplied loading and watts loss panel heat calculations.

 

Qualifications:

  • A Two-Year Degree in Applicable Field
  • 3 Years Pulp/Paper Industry Experience in packaging, converting, material handling or custom automation equipment.
  • Fundamental knowledge of engineering and design processes.
  • Working knowledge of the following technical areas:
  • 480 VAC power distribution
  • Variable frequency drives and servo drives
  • PLC’s and I/O systems, distributed control systems
  • National Electric Code expertise (Wire sizing and de-rating, Conduit sizing, Installation requirements)
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics experience
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated history of implementing engineering and design processes.

 

Work Environment:

  • 60-75% standard office setting
  • 25-40% shop and manufacturing facility

 

Physical Demands:

Sufficient mobility to work in an office setting; stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Must have ability to walk long distances and possess the flexibility to maneuver in and around machinery to take measurements. When on customer startups, must be able to travel long distances by car or plane and have the stamina to work extended hours (12+ hours per day) for up to 14 continuous days.
