Job Description Summary The Electrical Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing the products within the gas power portfolio. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Design and analyze electrical components throughout the gas power product portfolio. Perform thermal, stress, and modal analysis of components within the gas turbine, steam, generator, aeroderivative, and powerplant accessory space. Conduct testing and validation of new and existing designs and analyze post-test data. Create design documentation, including drawing, specifications, layouts, and diagrams. Prepare the functional specifications, based on the sizing studies, the contract, the regulatory codes and standards (ie. IEC, NEC, CSA, IECEx, ATEX etc.) applicable for the project, the reference designs Lead engineering focal for new Qualifications supporting GEV and supplier production. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and develop corrective actions (CAPA) to improve product reliability, quality, and performance. Support supplier design evaluations and disposition of technical offers Collaborate with cross-functional teams, interpret Single Line Diagrams and develop wiring, loop, instrumentation, and schematic diagrams and apply to electrical design principles to adapt/improve the overall system design. Take technical ownership of electrical hardware and systems. Work within teams for project execution and process improvement. Participate in peer and design reviews, develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders ie. Controlled Title Holders, analysis experts, and global sites. solving complex analytical problems. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze electrical components throughout the gas power product portfolio.

  • Perform thermal, stress, and modal analysis of components within the gas turbine, steam, generator, aeroderivative, and powerplant accessory space.

  • Conduct testing and validation of new and existing designs and analyze post-test data.

  • Create design documentation, including drawing, specifications, layouts, and diagrams.

  • Prepare the functional specifications, based on the sizing studies, the contract, the regulatory codes and standards (ie. IEC, NEC, CSA, IECEx, ATEX etc.) applicable for the project, the reference designs

  • Lead engineering focal for new Qualifications supporting GEV and supplier production.

  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and develop corrective actions (CAPA) to improve product reliability, quality, and performance.

  • Support supplier design evaluations and disposition of technical offers

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, interpret Single Line Diagrams and develop wiring, loop, instrumentation, and schematic diagrams and apply to electrical design principles to adapt/improve the overall system design.

  • Take technical ownership of electrical hardware and systems.

  • Work within teams for project execution and process improvement.

  • Participate in peer and design reviews, develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders ie. Controlled Title Holders, analysis experts, and global sites. solving complex analytical problems.

  • Comply with R&D processes, manage milestones, and seek peer validation.

  • Support tendering bids with specific calculations and recommendations.
