Proven ability to manage discipline and project team work within defined budgets. Expertise in identifying and solving ambiguous engineering and management issues. Job Description

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for directing the activities of the electrical hardware and controls software team. They oversee the analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of embedded control hardware and controls software application development. This position receives assignments in the form of Product Requirement Documents and establishes technical specifications and project schedules to meet business objectives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to team members to achieve goals in accordance with product requirements
  • Supervises the coordination of activities of the team with responsibility for results in terms of meeting project Stage Gate milestones and quality standards
  • Frequently interacts with team members and functional peer group leaders
  • Collects and provides relevant schedule updates to project teams and management
  • Actively researches and advocates best practices for electrical hardware and controls software development
  • Conducts team member career goal development, training, and performance reviews
  • Other duties may be assigned as required

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Requires BSEE degree plus 5+ years of relevant leadership in embedded electrical hardware and controls software application development experience.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience in Stage Gate and Agile engineering development environments
  • Experience with industrial electrical components and electronics
  • Experience with electronic circuit schematic capture, circuit simulation (Spice), and printed circuit board (PCB) layout software
  • Knowledge PLC software development and specifically CODESYS (IEC61131 Structured Text)
  • Familiarity with Altium PCB layout software would be a plus
  • Familiarity with software programming languages C, C++, and embedded operating systems like Linux, FreeRTOS, and MicroC/OS
  • Ability to apply sound engineering principles and practices in the design and verification for the launch of new products
