Interpret P&IDs, symbols, specifications, and industry terminology. Support both new construction and as-built modification projects. Assist project teams by addressing design questions and resolving issues. Position Requirements: Minimum 10 years of electrical design experience in refinery, plant, tank terminal, or heavy industrial environments. Experience supporting inbound and outbound rail, barge, and truck facilities. Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD (latest versions required). Experience producing P&IDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical layouts. Knowledge of document control systems (Meridian or equivalent). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Knowledge of Windows operating systems. Willingness to work occasional overtime as project schedules require. Ability to travel locally or out of town as needed. Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 1756 and Ethernet/IP experience is a plus. Education: Associate degree or equivalent work experience required Working Conditions: Hybrid office environment. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Education: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program, Electrical Engineering preferred. Prefer GPA of 3.0 or higher. Prefer junior or senior but will consider other class levels. Knowledge and Skills: Ability to work independently and eager to take on responsibilities. Working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong organizational and time management skills. Analytical, problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills. Experience with AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS design a plus. Hands-on mechanical aptitude a plus. Excellent oral, written and communication skills. Job Description

Electrical Designer Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid, 2 to 4 days onsite per week) Contract Length: 5-Year Contract, strong likelihood of extension Schedule: Monday through Friday Pay Rate: $50 to $59 per hour (W2, Non-Exempt) Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support long-term industrial infrastructure projects in the Houston area. This role is responsible for producing high-quality electrical design packages using AutoCAD for refinery, plant, and terminal environments. Project scope ranges from small modifications to large, multi-discipline capital projects. The position supports both new construction and as-built updates and requires close coordination with engineers, project managers, and drafting teams. Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate electrical drawings including schematics, wiring diagrams, plans, and details. Coordinate with multi-discipline teams to ensure design accuracy and consistency. Conduct field verifications and produce field sketches as required. Resolve design issues using sound drafting and engineering principles. Participate in design reviews and provide project status updates. Prepare, update, and organize drawing packages including: IFA, Issued for Approval IFB, Issued for Bid IFC, Issued for Construction Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with company and client standards. Recommend improvements to drafting methods, design standards, and workflows. Support estimating efforts by identifying design deliverables and quantities. Ensure alignment between disciplines for 2D and 3D CAD integration. Utilize document management systems such as Meridian for drawing control. Interpret P&IDs, symbols, specifications, and industry terminology. Support both new construction and as-built modification projects. Assist project teams by addressing design questions and resolving issues. Position Requirements: Minimum 10 years of electrical design experience in refinery, plant, tank terminal, or heavy industrial environments. Experience supporting inbound and outbound rail, barge, and truck facilities. Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD (latest versions required). Experience producing P&IDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical layouts. Knowledge of document control systems (Meridian or equivalent). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Knowledge of Windows operating systems. Willingness to work occasional overtime as project schedules require. Ability to travel locally or out of town as needed. Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 1756 and Ethernet/IP experience is a plus. Education: Associate degree or equivalent work experience required Working Conditions: Hybrid office environment. CAD workstation or office cubicle setting. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
