We are honored to be constructing our newest shingle manufacturing facility in Newton KS and hiring is underway as we build our initial plant leadership team. Due to our investment in training and the development of employees, you will have the opportunity to travel to our other locations, engage with peers, support the hiring of plant staff and participate in the design and construction of the facility. You will wear many hats during the construction and commissioning phases of the project, and ease into your steady role over time. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for working with and managing the Maintenance Department, preventive maintenance, machine modifications and general ground maintenance, as well as reviewing information and making strategic decisions to improve machine uptime, and reduce expenses, downtime and overtime. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. Essential Duties Employee management of the Plant Maintenance Department personnel, consisting of: Interviewing, hiring, and training new employees in compliance with company guidelines, federal and state governmental laws, and regulations. Providing timely performance coaching and counseling in the form of daily verbal feedback, annual written performance evaluations, frequent positive encouragement and recognition, and documented disciplinary actions, as necessary. Managing employee vacation/time-off requests to ensure employees' compliance with company guidelines and adequate departmental coverage. Identifying employees' training/developmental needs and ensuring the accomplishment of these training objectives. Scheduling employees' working hours to provide machine coverage and downtime maintenance repairs with a minimum amount of overtime. Maintain the accuracy of the timekeeping/payroll system daily, and approve before the payroll run. Maintenance Department responsibilities: Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems. Evaluate and modify PLC programs and touch screens as needed. Provide internal maintenance training or coordinate external training with HR as needed. Maintain a sufficient supply of spare machine parts and maintenance supplies. Assist Maintenance employees when needed. Continually update preventive maintenance schedule, and ensure timely completion. Continually seek ways of modifying machines to improve efficiency or product quality. Inspect the plant and grounds on a routine basis for potential hazards or OSHA violations and schedule necessary corrections. Participate in Maintenance/Production meetings. Participate in plant environmental/safety inspections. Ensure that all Maintenance areas are maintained in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Strategic Planning and Direction: Obtain and review statistical information regarding machine performance and identify areas to improve uptime. Evaluate and report on work orders to prioritize and ensure timely completion, working closely with production and quality departments. Review time and labor data to streamline maintenance operations wherever possible, and reduce overtime. Proactively identify and implement ideas for improving relationships between maintenance and production, working to create a cohesive working environment. Safety & Environmental Comply with all safety regulations and policies Utilize all prescribed PPE (personal protective equipment), at all times in designated areas (such as safety glasses, welding hoods, gloves, cutting goggles, respirators, shoes, vests, etc.) Observe all safety requirements (such as, lockout/tag out, hot work permits, forklift seatbelt, hazardous work, confined space, elevated work, etc.,) Actively participate in plant safety meetings and lead weekly maintenance safety meetings. Immediately report safety hazards to the appropriate management Proactively look for safety improvements and bring them to the attention of the management team Comply with all environmental regulations Ensure the maintenance team is following all environmental regulations in the performance of duties, and properly disposing of waste and used parts, etc. Coordinate with Maintenance/Operations Management in the assignment and implementation of approved safety and/or environmental improvements or repairs (equipment, facility, etc.) Provide backup assistance to maintenance personnel, as needed. Provide maintenance assistance for the plant as needed, including: PLC, Fabrication, Machine Shop, etc. Qualifications Required 5+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Required 3+ years recent supervisory experienced Required Strong electrical and mechanical background. Senior Product Service & Sustaining Engineer- Electrical Status: Exempt (Salaried) Department: Global Service- Service Engineering (Dept. 331) Position Summary This Product Service and Sustaining Engineer role, with a specialty in Electrical Engineering topics, will drive design efforts to achieve high operational availability, reliability and low life-cycle maintenance cost of Plug Power Electrolyzer systems during product development and early customer deployments. As a key member of the service engineering team, you will build and maintain expert-level technical knowledge and service material related to product operation, performance, and maintenance to assure service technicians, support personnel, and customers are able to troubleshoot and service Plug's products. You will be responsible for key service deliverables (e.g., Service BOM/Spares List, Corrective and Preventive Maintenance Procedures, Tools & Equipment Definition, Fault Handling Procedures, etc.) during development and early deployments of new products. This role will also be responsible for the Sustaining Engineering Efforts for the fleet of Electrolyzer systems actively supporting Client operations globally. You will be expected to support both internal and external troubleshooting efforts during operations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in the event of equipment failure, and fleet performance in order to maintain Client satisfaction around Key Performance Indicators (KPI). These activities will require inter-departmental collaboration and third-party supplier relationship building to drive design improvement and maintain equipment up-time. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong engineering background with applied experience developing and servicing complex electro-mechanical systems, rectifier and transformer packages, medium voltage power systems, large-scale industrial gas plants, or similar types of systems. Core Duties and Responsibilities Lead development and validation of service engineering deliverables during new product development to assure the global services organization and 3rd party partners are prepared to support fielded systems. Develop and maintain expert-level technical product knowledge for new products necessary to start-up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain systems. Drive a 'Design-for-Service' mindset throughout the design lifecycle, assuring all maintenance activities can be completed safely and with minimal cost. Leverage field experience to provide the 'voice of service', defining reliability and service requirements and assisting with the development and validation of new products. Model the expected service costs associated with corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance and inspections of systems and iterate system design with engineering to assure system reliability and service cost objectives are achieved. Define maintenance procedures, spares plans, and tools & equipment required to support and service new products. Define commissioning procedures for new products in collaboration with product engineering and the commissioning team. Lead/assist with root cause analysis and problem resolution efforts using structured methodologies (e.g., Shainin, 8D, DMAIC, etc.) to mitigate customer risks. Travel to customer locations to perform technical functions including system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and repair as required; author incident and problem resolution reports; and collaborate with onsite technicians. Develop onboard and remote diagnostic and prognostic capability to monitor system operation, identify emerging problems, and determine root cause and appropriate field response. Develop and provide technical training to internal staff members including on-site Service Technicians. Represent service engineering in customer interactions as needed to meet their expectations related to equipment maintenance and support. New Plant, New Opportunities
If you haven't been part of a greenfield startup, now is your chance. GAF is the North American leader in residential roofing materials. We are honored to be constructing our newest shingle manufacturing facility in Newton KS and hiring is underway as we build our initial plant leadership team. Due to our investment in training and the development of employees, you will have the opportunity to travel to our other locations, engage with peers, support the hiring of plant staff and participate in the design and construction of the facility. You will wear many hats during the construction and commissioning phases of the project, and ease into your steady role over time.
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for working with and managing the Maintenance Department, preventive maintenance, machine modifications and general ground maintenance, as well as reviewing information and making strategic decisions to improve machine uptime, and reduce expenses, downtime and overtime. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Essential Duties
Employee management of the Plant Maintenance Department personnel, consisting of:
Interviewing, hiring, and training new employees in compliance with company guidelines, federal and state governmental laws, and regulations.
Providing timely performance coaching and counseling in the form of daily verbal feedback, annual written performance evaluations, frequent positive encouragement and recognition, and documented disciplinary actions, as necessary.
Managing employee vacation/time-off requests to ensure employees' compliance with company guidelines and adequate departmental coverage.
Identifying employees' training/developmental needs and ensuring the accomplishment of these training objectives.
Scheduling employees' working hours to provide machine coverage and downtime maintenance repairs with a minimum amount of overtime.
Maintain the accuracy of the timekeeping/payroll system daily, and approve before the payroll run.
Maintenance Department responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems.
Evaluate and modify PLC programs and touch screens as needed.
Provide internal maintenance training or coordinate external training with HR as needed.
Maintain a sufficient supply of spare machine parts and maintenance supplies.
Assist Maintenance employees when needed.
Continually update preventive maintenance schedule, and ensure timely completion.
Continually seek ways of modifying machines to improve efficiency or product quality.
Inspect the plant and grounds on a routine basis for potential hazards or OSHA violations and schedule necessary corrections.
Participate in Maintenance/Production meetings.
Participate in plant environmental/safety inspections.
Ensure that all Maintenance areas are maintained in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
Strategic Planning and Direction:
Obtain and review statistical information regarding machine performance and identify areas to improve uptime.
Evaluate and report on work orders to prioritize and ensure timely completion, working closely with production and quality departments.
Review time and labor data to streamline maintenance operations wherever possible, and reduce overtime.
Proactively identify and implement ideas for improving relationships between maintenance and production, working to create a cohesive working environment.
Safety & Environmental
Comply with all safety regulations and policies
Utilize all prescribed PPE (personal protective equipment), at all times in designated areas (such as safety glasses, welding hoods, gloves, cutting goggles, respirators, shoes, vests, etc.)
Observe all safety requirements (such as, lockout/tag out, hot work permits, forklift seatbelt, hazardous work, confined space, elevated work, etc.,)
Actively participate in plant safety meetings and lead weekly maintenance safety meetings.
Immediately report safety hazards to the appropriate management
Proactively look for safety improvements and bring them to the attention of the management team
Comply with all environmental regulations
Ensure the maintenance team is following all environmental regulations in the performance of duties, and properly disposing of waste and used parts, etc.
Coordinate with Maintenance/Operations Management in the assignment and implementation of approved safety and/or environmental improvements or repairs (equipment, facility, etc.)
Provide backup assistance to maintenance personnel, as needed.
Provide maintenance assistance for the plant as needed, including: PLC, Fabrication, Machine Shop, etc.
Qualifications Required
5+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Required

Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.
Base Salary Range: $80,000-$110,000
