We are looking for an Electrical Engineer II - III in our San Diego, CA offices. Job Responsibilities As an Electrical Engineer II- III you will be responsible for creating basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers, performing equipment selections, and load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team. Participates in / Ensure / Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others. Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspections reports. Represents Syska Hennessy Group and works in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc. Job Requirements Successful candidates for the Electrical Engineer role should demonstrate strong REVIT, and MEP skills from mark-ups through the production of detailed drawings, and have basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements. Someone with knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (eQuest, Trace, etc.) would be a good fit for this dynamic role. Additional requirements include: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited Institution Minimum of 1.5+ to 6 years of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Provides guidance and leadership to newer colleagues and/or those with less experience on complex engineering assignments. Surveys property, casualty and liability losses, typically at residential and commercial buildings and loss scenes. Conducts investigations to determine the root cause of events and failures. Works closely with engineers and investigators to produce detailed reports, drawings, and/or outline the cause and origin of losses and damages. Job Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer II- III you will be responsible for creating basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers, performing equipment selections, and load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes.   • Coordinates with other disciplines and work in close contact with the entire design team
  • Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer perform equipment selections, load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes
  • Represent Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)
  • Master drawing organization format and company standards
  • Assists senior engineer and/or senior designer in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets.
  • Assists the senior engineer / senior designer in processing RFI's, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda
  • Begins to establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
  • Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer, develop specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes.
  • Participates in / Ensure / Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others.
  • Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspections reports.
  • Represents Syska Hennessy Group and works in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for the Electrical Engineer role should demonstrate strong REVIT, and MEP skills from mark-ups through the production of detailed drawings, and have basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements. Someone with knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (eQuest, Trace, etc.) would be a good fit for this dynamic role.

Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited Institution
  • Minimum of 1.5+ to 6 years of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical.
  • Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required
  • Basic understanding of proper system selection
  • Basic knowledge of applicable codes
  • FE certification required
  • Experience in Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare and interest in Project Management greatly preferred.
