Summary: Electrical designer experienced in developing power and controls design packages for various industrial facilities, including lift and pump stations. This role involves collaborating with a team of drafters, designers, and engineers in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. The ideal candidate is proficient in AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical & MicroStation with strong drafting skills.

General Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive electrical design packages, including plans, elevations, details, diagrams, schematics, and schedules for various industrial facilities with minimal supervision.
  • Apply design standards such as NFPA 70 (NEC), API RP 500 when developing and reviewing design packages to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Coordinate electrical power and controls design by meeting with engineers and project managers and reviewing project documentation.
  • Utilize advanced drafting tools and features such as external references, dynamic blocks, functions, and formulas in AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical and other software.
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing workload effectively to meet deadlines under tight schedules.
  • Adhere to internal and client-specific drafting and design standards and procedures to deliver high-quality work.

Required Education/Certifications:

  • Formal training in AutoCAD with certification or degree and minimum of 5 years professional, full-time experience in electrical design using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical and MicroStation

Required/Preferred Experience:

  • Experience coordinating with drafters, designers, and engineers across multiple design disciplines, including civil and mechanical, in an office environment.
  • Previous or current experience in an engineering firm, working in an electrical and controls capacity for various industrial facilities.
  • Experience working full-time with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical and MicroStation to draft and develop electrical design packages.
  • Preferred experience w/ grounding plans, conduit & cable schedule, process & instrumentation diagram, wiring diagrams and schematics.
