Leaves the classroom or laboratory clean, organized, and ready for the next user. Submits, at the designated time, final grades for all students on the class roster. Accurately maintains attendance records in accordance with the Attendance Policy, submits class roster daily, maintains a separate record of attendance and grades that is clearly labeled and turned in at the end of the term. Calls all students who are absent and submits written reports of pertinent information to the Program Director. Attends faculty meetings, in-service meetings, graduation and other college events as required by the College. Dresses professionally in accordance with faculty dress code if onsite. Demonstrate continuing professional development of technical expertise and as an instructor. JOB SUMMARY:  Adams Outdoor Advertising (AOA), the 4th largest and largest private Outdoor Advertising firm in the U.S., is seeking an Electrical Technician,  primarily responsible all illumination and digital display issues on AOA structures within their respective markets.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE:    Receives market improvement slips and/or a list of structures with illumination problems from the Operations Manager or Assistant Operations Manager in the morning.   Prioritizes work assignments geographically to maximize the number of structures that can be repaired within any given workday.  Troubleshoots each AOA structure on location to determine what actions need to be taken to illuminate the structure properly taking appropriate steps to repair the problem.  After performing the necessary repairs, checks lights to confirm proper operation.   Orders the necessary supplies either from local supply houses or distribution facilities where accounts are set up being mindful to secure the best pricing available.  Gets authorization from Operations Manager before any major purchases.  Manages and oversees the process of securing necessary permits for work performed on new structures as well as upgrades to existing structures.  Further, it is the responsibility of the licensed Electrician to contact and secure any locally required inspections on new service installs.  This includes ensuring that the local power company has been contacted after passing local inspection to verify the installation of power to the structure.     Upgrades old light fixtures per Cap Ex requests designated by the Operations Manager.  Sets cell based or advanced timers for daylight savings in March and November each year.  Illumination times are from dusk to 12am per company policy.  Follows proper Lockout/Tagout company procedures and OSHA guidelines when servicing AOA structures.  Communicates with electric utility providers when problems are with their equipment.  Performs maintenance and repair on any and all Trivision backlights and once certified, digital signage where applicable.  Installs new electrical services on new structures, securing proper permits prior to starting any and all work.   Replaces old electrical services that are no longer functional, securing proper permits prior to starting any and all work.  Utilize all safety related equipment without exception as mandated by Adams Outdoor Advertising operating procedures.  Comply and adhere to all company policies, procedures and guidelines without exception.  Cross-training in other operations functions is required.   Must become a certified climber.  This requires:   The ability to climb without restrictions fixed, portable and/or extension ladders to heights up to 125 feet multiple times daily.   The ability to work from elevated platforms up to 125 feet in height for up to 70% of the workday.   Must be able to lift weight up to 100 lbs. without restrictions or limitations through demonstrated safe lifting practices.   Working knowledge of or ability to learn the proper use of an oxygen/acetylene torch.   Working knowledge of or ability to learn the proper use of an AC/DC welder.   Must be able to safely operate or have the ability to learn to operate gas-powered equipment, such as lawn mowers, chain saws, generators, compressors, paint sprayers, etc.   Is required to possess a valid driver’s license in order to operate company vehicles.   Utilize all safety related equipment without exception as mandated by Adams Outdoor Advertising operating procedures.   Meet maximum weight restrictions of 265 pounds due to manufacturer requirements on safety related equipment used to work in elevate work environment.   Must have a full range of motion in order to install and maintain posters and bulletin signage.   Is required to possess a valid driver’s license in order to operate company vehicles.   The ability to work in all weather conditions when necessary.   The ability to tolerate the risk of expose associated with an outdoor environment.   Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.  MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:  Electrical experience required. Job Description

Primary responsibility in this position will be to provide theory classroom instruction as well as practical
application of lessons taught following a prescribed curriculum.

As an Instructor, you will:

  • Teaches the depth and scope of class materials as outlined in the syllabus and catalog and relates the instruction to careers and employer expectations.
  • Create and maintain an environment that is safe and conducive to learning and teaching.
  • Manage student activities and ensure implementation of school policies and procedures.
  • Maintain classroom equipment through on-going inspection, evaluation and maintain inventory current for needed repairs.
  • Participate in the curriculum evaluation to ensure it remains current and relevant to meet industry expectations.
  • Distribute the syllabus to each student at the first scheduled class session.
  • Prepare and grades examinations based upon course objectives and published exam schedule and returns all assignments in a timely manner.
  • Implements evaluation for outcomes assessment, and achieves established results while maintaining ACI standards of student satisfaction.
  • Works creatively in all classes taught to discourage student withdrawal and maintain satisfactory retention.
  • Begin and end each class at the designated times, providing a full period of instruction.
  • Leaves the classroom or laboratory clean, organized, and ready for the next user.
  • Submits, at the designated time, final grades for all students on the class roster.
  • Accurately maintains attendance records in accordance with the Attendance Policy, submits class roster daily, maintains a separate record of attendance and grades that is clearly labeled and turned in at the end of the term.
  • Calls all students who are absent and submits written reports of pertinent information to the Program Director.
  • Attends faculty meetings, in-service meetings, graduation and other college events as required by the College.
  • Dresses professionally in accordance with faculty dress code if onsite.
  • Demonstrate continuing professional development of technical expertise and as an instructor.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills; ability to work individually and within a group
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Provide excellent customer service to our students
  • Show Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 
  • Journeyman Electrician license required
  • Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, testing, and/or teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of teaching methods, curriculum, and education programs.
  • Teaching and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to teach and control the behavior of students.
