Major Responsibilities: Responsible for system design from blank sheet of paper to create concept of electrical/control components based on project requirements. Experience doing design via drafting software (AutoCAD preferred) Provide input, and system modification as needed, for system integration with other project disciplines Able to interface with facility design to optimize panel location minimizing voltage drop and designing a more efficient system hardware layout Manage vendor scope to verify safety, functionality, and all contract requirements are satisfied Ensures design complies with any local or government agency design/implementation codes in addition to client codes/standards Project technical risk assessment document generation and mitigation implementation Design and analysis for safety-critical parts within a control system Designing redundant mitigations in system to increase safety and reliability Designing systems with complex motion and integration from automated systems Develops documents of system configuration and design. Your scope of responsibility as IC&E Technician will include the following primary functions: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of transmitters, transducers, valve actuators, valve positioners, Continuous Emission Monitoring System analyzers, gas chromatographs, BTU analyzers, and gas detection equipment. Ensure that instrumentation and control systems are functioning correctly to maintain the safe and efficient operation of the LNG facility. Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical switchgear equipment. Work with electrical systems, including those operating at voltages up to 4,160 volts, ensuring they are in proper working order. Apply in-depth knowledge of PLCs, DCSs, relays, and control systems to diagnose and resolve issues. Utilize P&ID’s, plant drawings, wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams, and equipment manuals for preventative maintenance and repairs. Follow relevant procedures, redline, and create as needed to ensure safe and efficient operations in areas of assignment. Utilize hand and power-driven tools for maintenance and repair tasks. Prioritize safety utilizing the facility’s Safety Management System, safe work permits, lock-out/tag-out procedures and personal protective equipment. Maximize LNG production and auxiliary equipment efficiency. Contribute to plant profitability by eliminating waste, maintaining productivity, and participating in maintenance activities. Work effectively with team members, establish good working relations with colleagues, and provide assistance with clean-up and housekeeping. Understand and follow regulatory requirements to ensure legal and safe facility operation. Write and maintain equipment logs and reports professionally. Keep records of repairs, maintenance, and calibration activities. Stay updated with industry advancements, regulations, and best practices related to IC&E systems to improve skills and knowledge. Perform emergency operations to maintain electric service and safeguard station equipment as needed. Create Work Requests for identified field maintenance needs. Perform additional tasks as required to support efficient LNG facility operation. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated platforms and walkways at varying heights, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. The LNG facility environment may involve entering confined spaces, crawling through narrow areas, and handling hazardous materials, with exposure to fumes, cryogenic temperatures, extreme weather conditions, and noise. Work may include high heat near equipment as well as varying outdoor weather conditions at the Port of Tacoma. Some duties may require the use of protective equipment, which can include hard hats, safety glasses, and eye protection, air masks/respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), cryogenic PPE, hot gloves, high-voltage protective gear, and fall protection. Fit testing for respirators may be required. Strict smoking restrictions apply in and around the facility. Core Qualifications and Skills We are seeking a qualified Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical (IC&E) Technician with hands-on experience in a utility scale industrial environment. An Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Process Technology, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, equivalent technical training in industrial maintenance or instrumentation and control is beneficial, though not required.   • Provide input, and system modification as needed, for system integration with other project disciplines
    • Able to interface with facility design to optimize panel location minimizing voltage drop and designing a more efficient system hardware layout
  • Manage vendor scope to verify safety, functionality, and all contract requirements are satisfied
  • Ensures design complies with any local or government agency design/implementation codes in addition to client codes/standards
  • Project technical risk assessment document generation and mitigation implementation
  • Design and analysis for safety-critical parts within a control system
  • Designing redundant mitigations in system to increase safety and reliability
  • Designing systems with complex motion and integration from automated systems
  • Develops documents of system configuration and design. Documents include Description of operation, Detailed control system design description, panel assembly drawings and schematics, termination drawings, network layout, system implementation/acceptance test plans, system routine maintenance/job plans
  • Able to perform the following system design calculations/analysis: Short circuit protection, harmonics, noise reduction/cancellation, power consumption, load flow, short circuit protection, protective relay/circuit design, ground fault monitoring, safety system implementation (SIL/PL rating knowledge is preferred)
  • Knowledge of ride system design for attractions involving guests is preferred
  • Capable of working “off” shifts as needed during installation/commissioning to support project

Job Requirements:

  1. Must be organized, technically competent, have effective oral and written communications, experienced in working in a multi-disciplined environment and interfacing with engineers, designers, and drafters
  2. Education – bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. (Bachelor’s degrees in other disciplines may be acceptable if work experience is directly related to electrical engineering. Disciplines outside of the electrical/controls area will not be considered)
  3. Experience – 5+ years of experience covering most responsibilities listed above. Preferred experience in ASTM standards, attractions industry, and safety engineering
  4. Key Competencies – Knowledge of contract documents and specifications. Ability to collect field data and accurately record findings. Ability to perform system design functions. Planning, Customer Focused, Timely Decision Making, Informing, Organizing, Priority Setting, Problem Solving. Experience working with hardware/software from one of the major industrial manufacturers (i.e. Allen-Bradly, Siemens, etc.). Experience with ethernet-based distributed remote I/O systems
  5. Skills – All employees are required to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office environments
  6. Travel – Ability to travel up to 30%

Working Conditions Standard office environment, On-site office environment, and diverse industrial/construction environments. Frequent PC usage, copy machines, phones.

Expected Salary range is 120,000 to 180,000 per year based on qualifications.
