You will play a key role in preparing competitive bids, assisting with preconstruction planning, and supporting field operations for a wide range of projects—from routine panel replacements and circuit installations to complex switchgear upgrades and full-service property upgrades. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals. Review and interpret electrical plans and specifications. Conduct quantity takeoffs and develop labor and material estimates. Perform site visits and field analysis to validate scope and logistics. Collaborate with vendors for pricing and material availability. Create material summaries for vendor quotes and operations teams. Assess labor requirements and timelines using field knowledge. Support project planning, staging, and logistics alongside operations teams. Participate in bid-day summaries, presentations, and procurement processes. Provide value-engineering insights to enhance cost-efficiency. Meet with customers and board members to review and discuss proposals which may require afterhour and/or late afternoon meetings. Required Qualifications Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) . Experience specifying equipment and applying electrical installation best practices. Communicate project status, any issues or delays, and ensure that client expectations are met. Address and resolve any client concerns on-site. · Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues or obstacles that arise on the job site, such as design discrepancies, unforeseen conditions, or resource shortages. Work with the project manager and other stakeholders to find effective solutions. · Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work performed, materials used, manpower hours, and any issues encountered. Submit regular progress reports to the project manager and keep detailed logs for project tracking and future reference. · Project Close-Out: Ensure that all electrical work is completed according to project specifications and that the job is ready for final inspection. Assist with the preparation of as-built drawings, warranty documentation, and any other necessary close-out documentation for the client. Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent (required). An associate’s degree or certification in construction management or electrical technology is preferred. · 5+ years of experience as a superintendent, foreman, or similar role in electrical contracting, with experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial projects. · Relevant certifications, such as OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and Electrical Journeyman/Master Electrician credentials (preferred). This role will have a total annual compensation (base salary, bonus, allowances, etc.) of $130,000 to $170,000.  This is based on experience, electrical license, etc.  Location: You can live in any city in  Texas  and travel to projects. We pay for all travel to include housing, fuel and per diem.  Key Responsibilities: Provide supervision for all field activities, including assisting Field Managers in planning and executing scopes of work. Manage manpower resources and ensure compliance with all Knight Electric safety, quality, and productivity standards across all projects. Perform plan reviews and provide feedback on constructability, offer ideas for value engineering, and assist with installation planning and layout. Engage internal teams to facilitate the planning, design, and installation of prefabricated assemblies. Perform quantity takeoffs and assist project teams with material procurement, delivery schedules, and material staging plans. Collaborate with internal teams to establish initial project goals and monitor progress on an ongoing basis to ensure success. Perform productivity analyses across all projects using the Knight Electric Productive Jobsite Program tools. Assist project teams with building and maintaining CPM schedules as well as short-term look-ahead schedules and ensure that activities are consistently completed within prescribed durations. Constantly evaluate performance of all field personnel; assess training needs and ensure that all training objectives are met. Monitor man hours at the task level and provide guidance to Field Managers to ensure that scopes of work are completed within the budgeted hours. Monitor overall company backlog and maintain appropriate workforce levels accordingly. Job Description

Horizon Lighting is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Field Estimator to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an experienced professional with a deep understanding of electrical systems, design-build estimating, and field implementation.

You will play a key role in preparing competitive bids, assisting with preconstruction planning, and supporting field operations for a wide range of projects—from routine panel replacements and circuit installations to complex switchgear upgrades and full-service property upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals.
  • Review and interpret electrical plans and specifications.
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs and develop labor and material estimates.
  • Perform site visits and field analysis to validate scope and logistics.
  • Collaborate with vendors for pricing and material availability.
  • Create material summaries for vendor quotes and operations teams.
  • Assess labor requirements and timelines using field knowledge.
  • Support project planning, staging, and logistics alongside operations teams.
  • Participate in bid-day summaries, presentations, and procurement processes.
  • Provide value-engineering insights to enhance cost-efficiency.
  • Meet with customers and board members to review and discuss proposals which may require afterhour and/or late afternoon meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience specifying equipment and applying electrical installation best practices.
  • Ability to perform basic load calculations and voltage drop analysis.
  • Minimum of 10 years of field experience in the electrical industry.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Ability to make effective presentations to clients and internal teams.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to travel to project sites and perform onsite evaluations.
