Generates drawing packages for these systems as part of engineering design packages for clients. Provides leadership to other designers and may take on increasing ownership of electrical and controls packages and management of project tasks. Review design input and resolve ambiguous, incomplete, or conflicting information (including vendor drawings, marked-up drawings, design basis, notes, and verbal instructions). Verify design output meets design input and industry standards. Perform work related to design changes after validated documents are issued and notify project management of any perceived scope changes. Design electrical and control systems and generate drawings in accordance with client design requirements. Draw single line diagrams (SLD), elementary diagrams (ED), power distribution diagrams, grounding diagrams, lighting drawings, logic diagrams, network architecture diagrams, function diagrams, and other drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD software. Other Skills and Abilities High level of competency in AutoCAD required. Ability to create, modify, reference, and plot drawings to client standards. Knowledge of PDS EE Raceway, SmartPlant Electrical, and/or SKM is a plus. Basic knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as NEC, ISA, NFPA, ANSI, OSHA. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. 5–7+ years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Location: Kansas City, KS Salary: $90,000.00 USD Annually - $115,000.00 USD Annually Description: Position Overview Performs design tasks related to the layout and specification of electrical and controls systems. Generates drawing packages for these systems as part of engineering design packages for clients. Provides leadership to other designers and may take on increasing ownership of electrical and controls packages and management of project tasks. Position location: This role can be located in Kansas City, Salt Lake City UT, or Reston, VA and is a hybrid in office work from home role. Essential Functions Observe professional ethics in interactions with employees, clients, and vendors. Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineers. Review project scope of work and notify project management of any perceived changes during the design phase. Review design input and resolve ambiguous, incomplete, or conflicting information (including vendor drawings, marked-up drawings, design basis, notes, and verbal instructions). Verify design output meets design input and industry standards. Perform work related to design changes after validated documents are issued and notify project management of any perceived scope changes. Design electrical and control systems and generate drawings in accordance with client design requirements. Draw single line diagrams (SLD), elementary diagrams (ED), power distribution diagrams, grounding diagrams, lighting drawings, logic diagrams, network architecture diagrams, function diagrams, and other drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD software. Other Skills and Abilities High level of competency in AutoCAD required. Ability to create, modify, reference, and plot drawings to client standards. Knowledge of PDS EE Raceway, SmartPlant Electrical, and/or SKM is a plus. Basic knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as NEC, ISA, NFPA, ANSI, OSHA. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. 5–7+ years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
