What You'll Do Rapid Hardware Prototyping: Design and build functional prototypes for UAS subsystems, iterating quickly based on flight test feedback and mission requirements. PCB Design: Create schematic and layouts for power distribution, sensor interfaces, payload controllers and communication modules using Altium or KiCad. Board Bring up and Testing: Assemble, debug, and validate new PCBs; develop test procedures and fixtures to verify functionality and reliability under flight conditions. Documentation : Write technical documentation, prepare fabrication and assembly data for manufacturers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Mechanical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing Required Qualifications Experience with PCB design software (Altium or KiCad) Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers (Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, STM32, ESP32, RP2040) Embedded Programming Experience (Rust, Arduino, Python, or C++) Familiarity with power electronics circuits. Interesting work rotations and continued technical education drive the Edison Engineering Development Program. EEDPs are working to develop & improve exciting new products in Refrigeration, Cooking, Dishwashers, Air Conditioning, and Washers & Dryers. EEDPs work closely with manufacturing and product management to integrate product designs that meet customer needs. The core engineering skills gained in assignments- such PCB design, testing, implementation, small project management- are enhanced through advanced courses in engineering and mentoring from assignment leaders.  All of this prepares members with the technical and professional skills needed to grow your career in engineering.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

  • A three-year entry-level program providing at least three technical rotational assignments
  • Assignments are engineering positions in various Technology positions throughout GE Appliances, a Haier company
  • Diverse experiences include designing and implementing:
  • Technical problem-solving skills developed via advanced engineering coursework, formal reports, and presentations to senior leadership
  • Obtaining a Master’s Degree in Engineering is a requirement of the program and is paid for by the company.   GE Appliances partners with the local university and you attend on site and customized classes to match the needs of the Edison program.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or better in Electrical Engineering or related engineering degree
  • Cumulative GPA >= 3.0 (out of 4.0)
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
  • Positions located in Louisville, KY

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Desire and ability to continue learning
  • Committed to a Technical Engineering Program
  • Solid analytical skills and understanding of electrical schematics and symbols
  • Competence in using electronic tools such as soldering iron and multimeter
  • Strong work ethic
  • Completedtwo or more co-op or intern experiences prior to graduation
