As an Electrical Test and Reliability Engineer on Starlink, you’ll sit at the intersection of electrical, mechanical, thermal analysis, software, and antenna engineering - ultimately ensuring that our satellite hardware can withstand the harsh environment of space and maintain communication with millions of users on a global scale. There are several sub-teams within the larger Starlink hardware engineering group at our Redmond facility, each with a different area of focus. These teams work with a wide range of technical disciplines including high-speed digital communication, network system integration, power systems integration, RF systems, avionics, network computers, power electronics, failure analysis, on-orbit reliability, and testing automation. Your placement on these teams will be determined throughout the interviewing process after factoring in technical fit, expertise, and your personal preference. Rate of Pay: Electrical Designer 1 $22.86 - $26.08                       Electrical Designer 2 $24.00 - $27.38 Status: Open Until Filled This position performs small to medium size commercial and residential electrical power distribution construction design projects under the direction of the Supervisor of System Design. Works closely with the BLW customer in determining the appropriate system requirements; submits proposed designs to the Supervisor of Systems Design for approval and final review. Works with construction crews as needed for design modifications   Provides commercial and residential power distribution designs (underground and overhead) for the BLW customer and coordinates installation with developers, builders and other utility companies. Works with the customer to determine customer loads and proper equipment needed to safely connect to Marietta Power system. This role typically manages one to two smaller projects and is the key designer on larger base-building and infrastructure upgrade projects. Responsibilities Leads the design on Tenant fit-out projects and is a key designer on base building/infrastructure upgrades; assembles riser diagrams, schedules, and floor plans; participates in specification writing. Establishes design criteria from the project proposal and assembles basis of design documents. Assembles a complete set of contract documents for their trade including the lay out main equipment rooms, closets, shafts, risers, etc. Leads design for their trade’s ancillary systems required for a project and can assemble scope associated drawings with these systems (e.g. UPS, generators, fuel, secondary water pumps, water reclamation system, etc.). Reviews shop drawings, RFI’s, Contractor change orders, performs site visits and punch-lists with limited supervision to verify that designs are being implemented accurately. Assists in establishing an efficient project schedule for his/her project team that ensures appropriate use of resources while adhering to deadlines. Assists in following up on progress and completion of tasks; holds team members accountable to completing tasks on time regardless of his/her position. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Strong understanding of trade-specific scope of project, trade-related codes, and the required coordination with other trades Strong understanding of documentation requirements and content for each deliverable phase (e.g., SD, DD, CD and specifications) Proficient in all design calculations and software tools (e.g., Revit and AutoCAD) applicable to their discipline What We Offer: Our employees are our greatest strength.
