The Drafter will focus on creating drawings and diagrams related to low voltage electrical and security systems. They will be responsible for pre-sales drafting support, post sale shop drawing updates, preparing submittal packages, preparing project installation documentation, processing project permits, updating as-built drawings, and management/upkeep of the Digi drawing database. The Drafter will work closely with Digi's Solutions Engineers and Sales Support staff in order to provide accurate, detailed, and thorough quotes and designs. *Special preference will be given to Drafters with direct Low Voltage/Security System Design experience. This is an in-person role with daily commute expected to our OKC office. Job summary: The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who is capable of working with project teams on electrical substation engineering projects. Substation projects can include the following: Breaker and switch replacements (12kV-345kV) Relay panel replacements RTU replacements Ring bus expansions Line, bus and transformer relay upgrades Physical design Responsibilities: Work with project teams of engineers and designers in the design of electrical substations Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical substation engineering projects Project scoping and site walkdowns, travel to various substations is part of this job (Travel less than 5%) Prepare/create engineering documents for the installation of new, or modifications to existing substations, including: one-lines, 3-lines, schematics, bill of materials, and relay panel arrangements Good understanding of substation ground grid, rigid and strain bus, and raceway designs Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required EIT certification desired 3+ years or experience in designing electrical distribution/control systems required Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Teams, and Excel High voltage substation design (up to 34k kV) experience preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team and present positive image to clients Demonstrates strong ability to interpret and apply detailed specifications with accuracy and reliability Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time (hybrid) position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position is available hybrid or onsite. Minimum of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Job Description

Digi Security Systems is an industry leader in the design, installation and support of custom video surveillance, electronic access control, intrusion detection and fire solutions for companies of all sizes. We are seeking an experienced Drafter to join our operations in the Oklahoma City, OK area. The Drafter will focus on creating drawings and diagrams related to low voltage electrical and security systems. They will be responsible for pre-sales drafting support, post sale shop drawing updates, preparing submittal packages, preparing project installation documentation, processing project permits, updating as-built drawings, and management/upkeep of the Digi drawing database. The Drafter will work closely with Digi's Solutions Engineers and Sales Support staff in order to provide accurate, detailed, and thorough quotes and designs.

*Special preference will be given to Drafters with direct Low Voltage/Security System Design experience. This is an in-person role with daily commute expected to our OKC office.

Role Responsibilities of the Drafter include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Pre-Sales Drawing/Design Support
  • Prepare Shop Drawings Post Sale
  • Prepare and Submit Permit Applications
  • Prepare and Submit Submittal Packages
  • Prepare and Link Product Data Sheets, Installation Checklists and Installation Manuals for our install teams.
  • Design diagrams, maps and layouts to illustrate workflows.
  • Post installation as-built drawing updates.
  • Prepare user manual packages for client partners post installation.
  • Manage and Maintain Project Drawing/Documentation Library and Peer Access

Key Skills:

  • Experience with CAD/PDF Editing software including Adobe Suite, Bluebeam Revu
  • Familiarity with Cloud Document Sharing and Storage
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programs, Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented, well-organized nature
  • Handle multiple tasks, working under time-bound conditions
  • Experience with Low Voltage Systems is a plus
  • Valid Driver's License and means of transportation
