The operator is expected to independently resolve most of the problems encountered in the production of drawings by demonstrating skills in the use of the multiple sources of information from which data can be extracted to complete drawings, such as other computer programs, internet sites, manufacturers’ catalogs, technical handbooks, manuals and technical guides. Working knowledge of 3-D modeling, such as Solid Works is a plus. Prefer candidate able to work onsite as needed at Monrovia DSN facility. Position OverviewThe Electrical Estimator / Key Account Manager plays a dual role in supporting the company’s Service Divisions. This individual is responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates for electrical projects while also building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients. The role combines technical estimating expertise with strategic account management to drive profitable growth and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and RFPs for electrical, mechanical, and integrated MEP projects.

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead.

  • Perform quantity take-offs and pricing.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other estimators to ensure complete and competitive bids.

  • Develop proposal documents and present them to clients as needed.

Key Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for designated key clients.

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers to understand their needs and future project opportunities.

  • Monitor client satisfaction, address concerns promptly, and ensure repeat business.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for additional services (mechanical, plumbing, HVAC)

General & Cross-Functional Duties

  • Stay current with industry trends, building codes, and market conditions.

  • Assist in developing estimating standards, processes, and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.

  • Participate in project turnover meetings, providing estimating insights to operations teams.

  • Represent the company professionally at client meetings, networking events, and industry functions.

  • Support corporate goals for growth, quality, and profitability.

Required Skills:

  • Washington and Oregon Journeyman Electrical License is Highly Desired
  • Background in MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC) projects is a plus.
