Nightwing is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a dynamic program in a world-class operations facility.  The program requires a candidate that can support a broad range of fast paced, quick reaction program requirements.  The candidate will primarily provide electrical systems commissioning and energy related services for all phases of new construction projects as well as retro-commissioning, energy auditing, energy modeling and monitoring-based commissioning of existing facilities to support the energy and sustainability goals of each client and project. Electrical engineer will work with Mechanical engineering and software controls to plan, draw, and implement the installation and recap of IT infrastructures.  The Engineer will travel up to 15% OCONUS. 

Candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Responsible for multiple electrical systems, both CONUS and OCONUS, to include analysis and reporting of electrical data and metrics 

  • Maintain documentation pertaining to the various projects, design drawings, technical reports, and engineering activities 

  • Oversee functionality and provide engineering analysis for the Customer’s mission critical OCONUS facility 

CLEARANCE Requirement: TS/SCI and willingness to upgrade.

Required Skills: 

  • Analyze data from the site’s monitoring system to assist design development, site expansion capabilities, or determining inefficiencies 

  • Ability to calculate and develop power requirements for either new or existing facilities ​

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical equipment to include but not limited to; Medium/Low Voltage Unit Substations, Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS), Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), medium/low voltage distribution

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and Sequence of Operations for electrical and control systems 

  • Ability to review construction blueprints, drawings, and submittals 

  • Develop and execute preventative and/or predictive maintenance plans for mission critical equipment 

  • Ability to interpret and design electrical one-line and control wiring diagrams, and electrical coordination studies

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical equipment to resolve issues or improve efficiencies 

  • Understanding of industry standard data center best practices and how to implement them 

  • Collaborate with external vendors to source equipment and material

  • Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification 

  • Must be willing to support up to 15% OCONUS support  

  • Must be willing to upgrade clearance level requirement

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in mechanical cooling systems pertaining to Data Center configurations

  • Understanding of Building Monitoring Systems
