Role Summary: The Electrical Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair and upgrading of electrical controls & equipment in the production & extrusion areas. Primary responsibilities include electrical and electronic troubleshooting, wiring and repair of production equipment, and assisting production personnel in identifying and diagnosing the cause of system problems, whether the cause is electrical or mechanical in nature. Role Summary:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair and upgrading of electrical controls & equipment in the production & extrusion areas. Primary responsibilities include electrical and electronic troubleshooting, wiring and repair of production equipment, and assisting production personnel in identifying and diagnosing the cause of system problems, whether the cause is electrical or mechanical in nature.

  • Have an electromechanical or electrical background.

Accountable for:

  • Maintain and improve electrical safety features of machinery.
  • Diagnose basic machine problems and identify electro-mechanical problems.
  • Rewire and replace electrical components of the machines under the direction of theelectrical engineering staff.
  • Assist in the rebuilding of machines under the direction of the EE staff.
  • Follows good manufacturing practices to ensure product safety.
  • Assist in other plant operations as may be required.
  • Perform special or other projects or tasks as directed.
  • Understands and complies with requirements regarding customer and PI confidentiality

Desired Qualifications:

  • The technician should have completed course work in electric circuit design and/or electrical trouble shooting and repair. Some background in computer applications and programming is strongly desired. Completion of an Associate Degree in electrical repair or electronics or equivalent demonstrable training and experience is required. If not obtained, must obtain while in position.
  • The Electrical Technician position requires someone who is knowledgeable in wiring protocols and diagnostic skills. Good mechanical skills are required.

  • Frequent lifting of 15-25 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional repetitious tasks with upper extremities
  • Prolonged periods of standing on concrete floor
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to correctly wear and use personal protective equipment
