Job DetailsKey ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical systems for higher education facilities including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and telecommunicationsApply healthcare design standards and experience to specialized academic medical facilities and health sciences buildingsDevelop detailed construction documents, specifications, and cost estimatesCollaborate with architects, other engineering disciplines, and clients throughout project lifecyclesPerform electrical engineering calculations and analysis using industry-standard softwareConduct site assessments and field investigations of existing facilitiesProvide construction administration services including shop drawing review and site visitsMentor junior electrical engineers and coordinate with electrical designersEnsure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations including NFPA, NEC, and healthcare-specific requirementsDevelop innovative solutions that meet sustainability goals and energy efficiency requirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited universityProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseMinimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering designDemonstrated experience with healthcare facility design, including knowledge of healthcare codes and standardsExperience with higher education projects preferredProficiency in electrical design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical analysis programsStrong understanding of power distribution systems, lighting design, and low voltage systemsKnowledge of energy codes and sustainable design practicesExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlinesPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldLEED accreditationExperience with laboratory and research facility designKnowledge of smart building technologies and building automation systemsFamiliarity with design-build project delivery methodsExperience mentoring junior staffWhat We OfferCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageProfessional development opportunities and support for continuing educationCollaborative and innovative work environmentOpportunity to work on impactful projects that shape the future of higher educationWork-life balance and flexible scheduling optionsCareer advancement potentialInterested in hearing more?
