Manage communication with construction crew(s), client project manager, and engineering to resolve all queries (Requests for Information or RFI's) that may inhibit construction progress. During construction, identify field-purchased material needs and communicate those needs to the client Construction Manager in writing. Order materials and rental equipment as necessary and coordinate deliveries. Inventory materials and identify shortages as the project progresses in order to prevent delays in schedule. During construction, prepare Daily Log Reports that indicate progression of project to outline deficiencies in schedule, track completed construction activities, highlight safety incidents, and monitor compliance of work with specifications/drawings. During construction, perform other miscellaneous duties including maintaining redline construction drawing markups, completing weekly safety audits, communicating scope changes, confirming utility locates, and signing crew timesheets. In general, occasionally climb ladders and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Dematic has immediate needs for all levels of Electrical Controls Engineers in our Customer Service Modernizations & Upgrades group!

Candidates will have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in controls engineering or 8-10+ years of experience for senior level positions.

Qualified candidates are proficient in planning, creating schematic and panel assembly drawings, working with PLCs (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens), HMIs, and VFD's, implementation and commissioning of engineering design projects.

Employees can be based anywhere in the continental USA, however, must be willing to travel up to 40% to customer locations in the USA.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $65,000 - $140,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will Do In This Role:

  • Develops the design of very complex systems that integrate hardware and software.

  • Develops very complex material specification, schematic preparation, and appropriate follow-up.

  • Develops recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.

  • Guides very complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.

  • Performs advanced areas of work for the professional field.

  • Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently, including developing new solutions to existing opportunities.

  • Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.

  • Leads the largest complex projects, delegating most tasks to lower-level engineers.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or advanced degree.

  • 5 - 8 years of successful experience in related field for electrical controls engineers

  • 8-10+ years of successful experience in related field for senior level electrical controls engineer roles.

  • Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD.

  • Proficient in either Rockwell or Siemens PLCs.

  • Knowledgeable on AC drives, both open & closed loop.

  • Experience in Ethernet IP network design and machine safety a plus.
