Using advanced test equipment-like oscilloscopes, multimeters, TDRs, FM discriminators, and data acquisition systems (FM-PCM, digital PCM)-to diagnose and correct faults. Building, routing, and checking flight test electrical wire harnesses and printed circuit boards using certified soldering techniques. Preparing instrumentation systems and components for flight, and supporting pre- and post-flight calibrations and checkouts. Operating and maintaining ground support equipment and making recommendations for improvements. Accompanying aircraft on production and acceptance flights to perform in-flight system monitoring and adjustments. Reports to: Director, Electrical Engineering Direct Reports: 0 What You'll Do Update in-market circuit designs to address component obsolescence, component changes, second-source requests, cost savings, and other post-launch design improvements for mass production electronics Collaborate with cross functional engineering design teams, technology partners, and manufacturing teams to own electronics maintenance during the post launch lifecycle. Execute bench verification and performance evaluation of components and circuits using laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc. Perform debug, failure analysis, and rework of electronics systems, circuits, and components Using OrCAD Schematic tools, improve or modify embedded high-density, high-speed mixed-signal electronic circuits that integrate a wide array of electronics: application processors, microcontrollers, image sensors, high- and low-speed data interfaces, high-speed memory, switch-mode and linear power supplies, batteries, audio subsystems, RF transceivers, discrete digital and analog components, PCBs and Flexible PCBs, and a lot more. Team with PCB Design engineers to define, plan, implement, and inspect printed circuit board layout updates using Allegro or other layout tools Test and evaluate basic RF performance of wireless circuitry (Cellular, Wifi, Bluetooth, GNSS, etc) in assigned in-market products Map out test methods, perform system and component verification testing, and drive test plans for evaluating electronics design changes. Assess and document design change outcomes, test results, and related information and present information to design teams and management. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering discipline Minimum 5 years of industry electronics design or electronics sustaining experience with mass-produced high-speed, high-density, portable, battery-powered devices, and/or low-power vehicular embedded electronics products. Proficient with identifying and implementing alternate source electronic component solutions and/or circuit design changes necessary to address design improvement, obsolescence, supply chain easement, etc, of released mass production electronics. Proficiency with general process of making design changes to Bills of Material (BOMs), schematics, layouts as needed for change requests. As an Electrical and Instrumentation Mechanic, you'll be part of a hands-on team supporting experimental and advanced aircraft, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and readiness for flight.

What You Will Be Doing:

You'll play a key role in integrating, testing, and troubleshooting sophisticated electrical and instrumentation systems on cutting-edge aircraft. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Performing final servicing, checkout, troubleshooting, and maintenance of aircraft electrical and instrumentation systems before, during, and after flight.
  • Installing and verifying modifications and resolving malfunctions across electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to support R&D efforts, static and dynamic testing, and flight readiness.
  • Using advanced test equipment-like oscilloscopes, multimeters, TDRs, FM discriminators, and data acquisition systems (FM-PCM, digital PCM)-to diagnose and correct faults.
  • Building, routing, and checking flight test electrical wire harnesses and printed circuit boards using certified soldering techniques.
  • Preparing instrumentation systems and components for flight, and supporting pre- and post-flight calibrations and checkouts.
  • Operating and maintaining ground support equipment and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Accompanying aircraft on production and acceptance flights to perform in-flight system monitoring and adjustments.
  • Ensuring aircraft are maintained or prepped for flight, storage, or inactive status in line with applicable procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of four years' experience in aircraft electrical and electronic installation and electrical checkout or as a Flight Electrical and Instrument Mechanic.

And be able to demonstrate a knowledge, skillset, or have completed training in the following job skills:

  1. Complete level blueprint, technical data and data

model comprehension, electrical schematics,

electrical diagrams, and systems diagrams
