JOB DESCRIPTION Principal Electrical Engineer / Engineering Team Lead to support the design and development of electrical systems for capital equipment in the semiconductor industry. This individual will be responsible for electrical design and analysis, ensuring compliance with overall design quality standards and development processes. They will also lead and guide small teams of electrical engineers, holding them accountable for adherence to these standards and processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in electrical systems, analysis tools, and engineering leadership. They will collaborate closely with product development teams, including project and product managers, to meet project deliverables. A key focus of this role is to drive standardization across product lines and promote the reuse of sub-assemblies and components. Additionally, the role includes identifying training opportunities in relevant technical areas to support team growth and development. Ultimately, the Senior Electrical Engineer will champion technical excellence across all aspects of the role. Responsibilities: Electrical expertise, both academic & industrial in new product development and R&D.Execute engineering projects and development of electromechanical systems including power distribution, vacuum systems, high voltage, control systems, robotics, safety interlocks and electro-static chuck technologies. Sustain continuous improvement to the overall electrical engineering development process. Ensures adherence to the development process including requirements planning, schedule estimates, concept reviews, design reviews, verification, and validation test plans. Deliver projects, confers with program and project engineers, and ensure that development is progressing according to schedule and within budgetary guidelines. Recommends corrective action as required. Provide electrical engineering interface to the design services group and to offshore teams to deliver quality designs and on-time performance. Communicates to customers and cross-functional groups the status of development projects. Ensures that products and projects are delivered to meet customer requirements and specifications. Accountable for quality goals, schedules, development process, and system performance. The role requires close day to day interaction with both project managers and key customers to deliver engineering projects for new and legacy products. Strong interpersonal skills are mandatory, together with a drive to succeed. Ensures designs meet design objectives as well as safety, industry (SEMI), and customer specific requirements. The ability to lead a small team of electrical engineering and hold them accountable for quality goals, schedules, development process, and system performance. Requirements: Must have design skills with Altium, PADS, PSpice, Xilinx/Altera FPGA/CPLD development tools Experience leading small teams of electrical and/or firmware engineers Experience working with offshore teams is a benefit. Extremely strong written and verbal skills. Electrical modeling and analysis skills. Experience with High Voltage and RF Power is a plus. About the role Pacific Fusion is seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Pulsed and Timing Systems to support the development and operation of high-voltage, high-precision pulsed diagnostic systems critical to fusion research. This role will focus on triggering and timing systems operating in the 5kV range, requiring expertise in pulsed electronics, time-domain systems, and hands-on testing and integration. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and troubleshoot high-voltage pulsed systems (up to 5kV) for diagnostic timing and triggering applications. Develop and validate timing synchronization systems with sub-nanosecond precision across complex experimental setups. Collaborate with scientists and engineers to integrate pulsed systems into larger diagnostic platforms. YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY: The Foreman is responsible for monitoring installations and ensuring work is performed according to Rosendin standards and project specifications. Work cooperatively with the general contractor and/or customer in managing the project, project schedule and employees. Establish project goals and monitor success in reaching those objectives on an ongoing basis. Manage purchase orders and ensure ordered materials are received while adhering to bulk buy material procedures. Adhere to project contract document changes and Rosendin change order notice-to-proceed policies. Fully utilize a prefabrication facility and company-wide installation methods and policies. Ensure the proper safety equipment, materials and tools are onsite to perform required work. Provide General Foreman with sufficient notice of any crew changes. Utilize a proactive approach to anticipate and resolve potential issues. Ensure crew members start and finish work shift on time; Maintain proper meal/break times per as legally required per local labor laws and regulations. Conduct effective performance evaluations of crew members. Maintain complete and accurate “as-builts” as per Rosendin procedures and project requirements. Communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals including project owners, architects, general contractors, management, crew members, etc. Ensure all work performed meets with NEC, federal, state, county, local codes and contract documents. Adhere to all Rosendin, state and federal safety policies and procedures. JOB DESCRIPTION

Principal Electrical Engineer / Engineering Team Lead to support the design and development of electrical systems for capital equipment in the semiconductor industry. This individual will be responsible for electrical design and analysis, ensuring compliance with overall design quality standards and development processes. They will also lead and guide small teams of electrical engineers, holding them accountable for adherence to these standards and processes.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in electrical systems, analysis tools, and engineering leadership. They will collaborate closely with product development teams, including project and product managers, to meet project deliverables. A key focus of this role is to drive standardization across product lines and promote the reuse of sub-assemblies and components.

Additionally, the role includes identifying training opportunities in relevant technical areas to support team growth and development. Ultimately, the Senior Electrical Engineer will champion technical excellence across all aspects of the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Electrical expertise, both academic & industrial in new product development and R&D.Execute engineering projects and development of electromechanical systems including power distribution, vacuum systems, high voltage, control systems, robotics, safety interlocks and electro-static chuck technologies.
  • Sustain continuous improvement to the overall electrical engineering development process.   Ensures adherence to the development process including requirements planning, schedule estimates, concept reviews, design reviews, verification, and validation test plans.
  • Deliver projects, confers with program and project engineers, and ensure that development is progressing according to schedule and within budgetary guidelines.  Recommends corrective action as required.
  • Provide electrical engineering interface to the design services group and to offshore teams to deliver quality designs and on-time performance.
  • Communicates to customers and cross-functional groups the status of development projects.  Ensures that products and projects are delivered to meet customer requirements and specifications. 
  • Accountable for quality goals, schedules, development process, and system performance.  The role requires close day to day interaction with both project managers and key customers to deliver engineering projects for new and legacy products. Strong interpersonal skills are mandatory, together with a drive to succeed.
  • Ensures designs meet design objectives as well as safety, industry (SEMI), and customer specific requirements.
  • The ability to lead a small team of electrical engineering and hold them accountable for quality goals, schedules, development process, and system performance. 

Requirements:

  • Must have design skills with Altium, PADS, PSpice, Xilinx/Altera FPGA/CPLD development tools
  • Experience leading small teams of electrical and/or firmware engineers
  • Experience working with offshore teams is a benefit.
  • Extremely strong written and verbal skills.
  • Electrical modeling and analysis skills. 
  • Experience with High Voltage and RF Power is a plus.
  • Experience with Creo Schematic, Creo Cabling, AutoCad is a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering

This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.

Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on

multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work

location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as

you develop within the role.

Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the

Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular

employees working 20+ hours a week).
