Participate in product development programs as required. Prepare/review documentation and drawings Drive continuous improvement. Understand electrical schematics Transformer inspections Infrared panel testing PLC and VFD drive troubleshooting, updating, programming, etc.… (knowledge of Siemens a plus) Operation and maintenance on overhead crane (AC and DC) Supervising projects while working hands on with team Maintain a clean and safe work environment Other duties as assigned Ability to troubleshoot both power wiring and controls Knowledge in 13.8 KV, 110v/220v, 480v, 2300v, 25 HZ etc... The equipment these systems control are multi-station assembly systems, presses, trimmers, and fluid handling systems that consist of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, optical, and pneumatic devices. In general, our equipment are designed to process liquid slurries, metal powders, and solid energetic parts and assemble them into final products in a highly controlled, safe, and consistent manner. Primary Responsibilities Design and program new and/or upgraded control systems for our manufacturing equipment to be used on both new and existing products. JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title:                     Electrical Controls Engineer  Department:              MaintenanceSupervisor:                 Maintenance ManagerSalary:                         Salary based on experienceJOB PURPOSEResponsible for designing, developing and maintaining control systems for electrical equipment and machinery, such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), AC/DC Drives, supervisory control, data acquisition systems, etc…  To ensure that the equipment and machinery operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.  JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
  • Provide technical support as required to ensure plant equipment is operating and optimized.
  •  Assist in commissioning capital equipment projects.
  • Integrate common equipment controls best practices.
  • Review equipment controls systems to ensure that the system meets all applicable safety standards.
  • Review technical feasibility of projects and provide input to maintain the capital plan.
  • Aid in vendor selection, equipment specification, quotation, and reviews for new equipment.
  • Participate in product development programs as required.
  • Prepare/review documentation and drawings
  • Drive continuous improvement.
  • Understand electrical schematics
  • Transformer inspections
  • Infrared panel testing
  • PLC and VFD drive troubleshooting, updating, programming, etc.… (knowledge of Siemens a plus)
  • Operation and maintenance on overhead crane (AC and DC)
  • Supervising projects while working hands on with team 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to troubleshoot both power wiring and controls
  • Knowledge in 13.8 KV, 110v/220v, 480v, 2300v, 25 HZ etc... A/C power and working knowledge of 250 DC power. 
  • Knowledge of 13.8 KV to 120 VAC Breaker Maintenance and upgrades
  • Electrical preventative maintenance knowledge
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s and Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Sound proficiency in process control applications and database systems.
  • Knowledge on electrical design and safety standards for industrial machinery – IEC, IEEE, NEMA, CE.
