Position Summary: The Mechanical / Electrical Engineer will collaborate with Janotta & Herner Architects, Engineers, Project Managers and Draftsman Along with outside Contractors to design and implement mechanical, plumbing & electrical systems for various design build projects according to code for commercial, industrial and healthcare construction. Key Responsibilities: Create detailed designs for mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes. Ensure that all designs are completed on schedule and within budget constraints. Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and existing conditions, providing input on feasibility and potential challenges when needed. Prepare and review technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports, to support project implementation. Implement quality control measures to ensure that all mechanical systems are designed and installed according to specifications and regulations. Review design methods, procedures and changes in scope with the lead engineer. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical / electrical design in commercial, industrial and healthcare construction. Proficient in design software such as Revit and AutoCAD with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Prepare functional design documents for HVAC, Plumbing, Lighting and Electrical Distribution systems. Create and modify project calculations and specifications. Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Prefer individuals with dual role experience. Raise, lower or position equipment tools and materials using hoist hand line or block and tackle. Inform journeyman of material needs. Maintain tools and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order. Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment. Thread conduit ends, connect couplings and fabricate and secure conduit support brackets using hand tools. Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings, using hand and power tools. Develop construction budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs. Oversee project production efforts to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Visit project sites to review progress and gauge conformance to construction documents. Perform construction administration duties and review all construction document revisions with the Engineer of Record. We require: Four-year minimum degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program At least three years of recent experience as an Electrical PE in electrical building design Excellent interpersonal & communication skills - Connections are a critical part of how we work. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and International Building Codes. Knowledge or experience in the preparation of construction drawings and specifications. Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.  Other relevant programs could include Bluebeam, AGI-32, SKM Power Tools for Windows.
