Assigned to project(s) to perform certain tasks under the direction of a registered Professional Engineer. Accepts direction and supervision well. Is encouraged to try to solve engineering problems using their education.  Able to manage the Electrical topics during client facing meetings. Performs Electrical infrastructure design and drafting based on client interactions and feedback.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts site visits to identify discrepancies between design documents and field conditions; assists in resolving construction-phase issues.
  • Assists in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, studies, permits and designs for assigned projects.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Assists in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Familiarizes themselves with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Operates engineering software to solve specific problems, and inputs the data required by the program.
  • Familiarize themselves with state-of-the-art design and various state and local regulations.
  • Participates in design-build coordination meetings with contractors to review constructability and address technical questions.
  • Demonstrates willingness to learn new technologies, design methods, and construction techniques.

Skills: 

  • Able to generate Electrical one-line diagrams for complex electrical infrastructures.
  • Provide and supports the design and layout of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and low-voltage systems.
  • Reviews shop drawings and submittals for compliance with design intent and specifications.
  • Able to manage the Electrical conversation during client facing meetings.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in an Electrical Engineering degree from ABET accredited school.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an Electrical Consulting role or similar position.
  • E.I.T a plus
