Develop circuits, boards, and rugged electronic hardware assemblies across the entire product life-cycle; including concept and requirements definition, design, prototyping, verification (power-on, functional / acceptance / qualification testing) and release to production. Support risk analyses, failure modes effects and criticality analyses (FMECA), design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx), and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies. Manage design schedules of avionics subsystem. Routinely present program status and issues. Identify root cause failure modes using fault tree and fishbone methodologies. Qualifications: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field with 7 years of professional experience of which 5+ years of direct experience in electronics hardware development. The New Product Quality Engineer- Electrical is responsible for supporting electrical medical devices through their full life-cycle. This specific Quality Engineering position will primarily focus on electrical medical devices, including implantable pulse generators and programmers. Key Responsibilities: Design assurance activities as part of new product development and process/product changes. Leading investigations for technically complex and challenging manufacturing nonconformities and post-market failures to identify root cause/corrective actions in a timely and compliant manner. Required knowledge includes electrical design, firmware/software design, and statistics. Knowledge in medical device regulations, including the QMS processes required to develop and manufacture medical devices is preferable. Compensation, Benefits, and Schedule: The target salary for this position ranges from $85,000 - $100,000 annually plus discretionary bonus. Salary will be offered based on depth and relevance of experience. What We Offer

This position is responsible for supporting manufacturing processes at the Covestro South Deerfield Site. This includes the implementation of electrical projects to allow for the safe, responsible, and efficient production of both Thermoplastic Polyurethane and Polycarbonate films.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Integrates the site's incident free workplace culture into all activities. Manages large electrical safety related projects and provides leadership on site safety teams. May be asked to investigate and propose solutions for complex electrical safety related concerns. Capable of Management of Change activities for complex process and project activities.
  • Capable of leading complex electrical / controls, significant role in at least one large project . Routinely provides necessary electrical engineering support to complex capital and continual improvement projects across the site. Fluent with industrial electrical standards and site's electrical distribution system and equipment. Perform detailed calculations to develop designs, specifications, and standards for electrical systems
  • Provides technical support to the production and maintenance teams in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Develops and utilizes root cause analysis techniques to identify issues with electrical equipment or reliability problems. Capable of leading teams through structured problem solving activities to solve issues.
  • Possesses a continuous improvement mindset. Leads complex continuous improvement teams / efforts at the site as electrical engineering support. Identifies opportunities and solutions for improvement activities at the site.
  • Works with Process and Quality Engineering to develop and implement small to mid-size electrical projects. Provides day to day support of production for troubleshooting during start-up of new equipment. Capable of updating of Standard Operating Procedures as well as providing operator training activities for electrical project activities.
  • Utilizes their understanding of business and economic drivers to identify and develop project opportunities at the site.

What You Offer

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering (Electrical preferred) with a minimum of 4 years' experience is required.
  • 8-10+ years with growing responsibilities in a manufacturing, engineering, or maintenance environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional registrations and/or certifications are desirable
  • Theromoplastic film extrusion and web handling
  • CAD, Project, SAP desirable

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills.
  • Practices active listening skills, able to communicate openly and effectively, providing timely and relevant feedback to facilitate appropriate actions by self and others.
