POSITION SUMMARY The Electrical Engineer II applies technical knowledge to design, develop and transfer to manufacturing electronic modules embedded in MSD's instruments and supports other engineering projects. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop analog designs for power supplies, analog/digital sensors, low light-level sensors and human-machine interfaces, motion, fluidics and temperature controls. Develop digital designs for microcontrollers and USB high speed hubs. Develop schematics, BOMs and theory of operations. Guide PCB layout as required. This salary range represents a general guideline as MSD considers other factors when presenting an offer of employment, such as scope and responsibilities of the position, external market factors, and the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, education and experience. Employees may qualify for a discretionary or non-discretionary bonus in addition to their base salary. Job Description Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an Electrical Superintendent with 5 or more years of commercial electrical construction experience to work in Abilene, TX while based out of Austin, TX. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day scheduling and field coordination of all aspects of the electrical and low voltage systems scopes of a project(s). The Electrical Superintendent will work as part of field leadership team and will be responsible for the planning and execution of system start-up, test, and commissioning. Proven expertise in high-voltage systems, power electronics, and battery management systems for EVs. Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice) and harness or PCB design software (e.g., Altium, Cadence). Skills: Troubleshooting EV Systems and components Strong understanding of EV powertrain components, including motors, inverters, and DC-DC converters. Proficiency in designing and troubleshooting high-voltage systems (up to 800V or higher). Knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and automotive quality standards. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Preferred: Experience with EV charging systems (e.g., CCS, CHAdeMO, NACS). Knowledge of thermal management systems for batteries and power electronics. Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware development for EV applications. Physical Requirements: Considerable physical activity with prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 25 pounds.
