The Electrical Project Manager works closely with VP of Service, Sales Team and Estimator for the implementation of the assigned electrical projects.  This position requires a high level of personal organizational and personal relationship skills.  Supervises all aspects of performance and work stay in compliance with contractors, clients, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution: Supervises Electrical Project Coordinators/Engineers, Electrical Project Foremen, Lead Electrician, and work crews in all activities concerned with electrical works aspects of a construction project. Commands respect of foremen, skilled labor and discipline workforce, and develop excellent working relationship with all other department personnel as well as client management. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for electrical installations and systems. Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Coordinate with engineers, electricians, and subcontractors to ensure timely project execution. Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines. Coordinates with other trades’ Project Managers to ensure the optimum interface of the various operational activities, with the overall object of successful completion of the project. Ability to optimize resources (manpower, equipment and materials) to ensure efficient and timely completion of the project. Able to lead and motivate staff toward a common goal.  Must be an excellent communicator. Must have good vision and manual dexterity for inspecting electrical components and reading schematics. The Duke Energy McGuire Nuclear Station Design Support Engineering (DSE) group is responsible for protecting the design basis for the station. DSE is responsible for the preparation and development for engineering solutions that include risk reduction, equipment obsolescence, and plant modernization. In addition, DSE provides support to routine assessments that ensure McGuire is designed and operated in accordance with governing codes and standards. The McGuire DSE team works closely with systems engineering, operations and maintenance to ensure optimal engineering solutions are developed to meet plant needs. The team collaborates with other design engineering staff and station management to ensure high quality design solutions are delivered consistently with established nuclear processes and standards. Manage the development, design, and implementation of limited scope plant modifications to McGuire Nuclear Station. The team also supports operations and maintenance questions and troubleshooting on various plant issues. For plant modifications, the individual will be responsible for developing the scope, technical basis, installation and testing requirements for plant modifications installed in the plant. Ongoing support of assigned engineering changes through work order reviews, corrective action program assignments, and field installation support activities is required. Research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, determines and presents recommendations to resolve issues. Provide general Electrical Engineering and emergent issue support during plant outages. Basic Qualifications Nuclear Engineer III Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. A Master 's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. 4-6 years of engineering experience. Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience. Sr Nuclear Engineer Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. A Master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree. Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer. Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program will be considered in lieu of a B.S engineering degree. Proficient in engineering theories and principles. Proficient in principles of project management. Experience in the utility industry. State registration as a Professional Engineer. Working level knowledge of pipe stress software programs. Special Requirements In lieu of 1 year of nuclear experience, a selected candidate is subject to the oversight and written approval authority of a designated qualified individual until the selected candidate becomes fully qualified. Able to achieve and maintain nuclear site Unescorted Access/Security clearance. This position may be required to have Emergency Response Organization (ERO) responsibilities which could include callouts with a defined response time to the site and an on-call duty rotation requiring the employee to be Fit for Duty. Required to wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.) as needed. Additional hours expected as workload/business need requires including refueling outage and support of emergent plant issues. Occasional overnight travel. The role combines technical expertise, project management responsibilities, and cost estimation to ensure successful project delivery in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.    Key Responsibilities:  Project Support and Coordination:  Assist with the preparation of technical reports, project updates, and compliance documentation.  Assist with ensuring electrical components and systems meet the technical specifications, safety standards, and electrical code.  Assist with coordinating contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.  Maintain accurate project files, drawings, and records of all electrical work performed.  Track project progress and report on key milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.  Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, engineers, and regulatory bodies.  Estimating and Cost Control:  Assist in preparing initial project estimates by evaluating project scope, specifications, and drawings.  Perform cost analysis for electrical components, materials, labor, and equipment required for each phase of the project.  Work closely with the project team and subcontractors to obtain accurate material and labor cost estimates.  Assist in creating detailed budgets and timelines, tracking costs during project execution to ensure adherence to the initial budget.  Monitor and report on any potential cost overruns and collaborate with the Project Manager to find solutions to stay within budget.  Help identify and evaluate opportunities for cost-saving measures during the project lifecycle.  Health, Safety, and Compliance:  Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations during electrical installations and operations.  Qualifications:  Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, Construction Management or a related field are a plus  Professional certifications in project management are a plus.  Experience:  2-5 years of experience in electrical construction, ideally within the water/wastewater, utilities, or industrial sectors.  Experience with cost estimation and budgeting for electrical projects is a plus.  Skills and Competencies:  Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, NFPA), standards, and regulations applicable to water/wastewater operations.  Familiarity of electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and automation with a willingness to become a subject matter expert.  Knowledge of project management (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), CAD, and estimating software a plus but not required  Strong skills in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial tracking for electrical projects.  Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.  Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.  Work Environment:  Ability to work in both office and field environments, with frequent visits to job sites.  Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, or in outdoor environments, as required by project needs.  This role will require frequent travel to project sites, including remote locations.  Flexibility to work outside of regular office hours during project deadlines or emergency situations may be required.  Compensation:  Competitive salary based on experience.  Benefits include 401k and paid time off.  Apply here:  https://app.meetladder.com/e/Energy-Systems-Southeast/Seeking-Apprentice-Electrician-Newnan-GA-Xu4TH5xVKj Powered by JazzHR
