Job Summary We are seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineering Designer for our St. Louis location. Responsibilities & Qualifications Responsibilities: Design basic electrical systems in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other MEP disciplines, including Fire Protection and Architecture. Coordinate with the designs of other trades (architectural, engineering / internal, and external) under the guidance of more senior technical staff. Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer. Learn drawing organization and company standard. Support the design and engineering efforts of systems for new installations, system retrofits, system replacement, and system upgrades for a wide variety of projects and project types. Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assignments. Assist engineers with field investigations and construction site visits to observe and attend project coordination meetings. Qualifications: ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering. 0-3 years' experience, preferably in an Engineering/Consulting/Design Firm environment. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred. Fundamental experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing electrical lighting, power, and special systems designs. Strong verbal and written skills- ability to interface with colleagues, clients and external partners. Ability to travel as for client development and project execution. Previous Engineering Internship Preferred. MS Office Suite Proficiency: AutoCAD and Revit experience is preferred. About the Role: The Power Systems Electrical Engineer is responsible for the 24/7 support of Warrick's rectifier station and plant-wide high voltage power system. The engineer will be accountable for providing engineering expertise to the electrical crews, contractors, production centers, and plant management to insure the safe and reliable operation and upkeep of a large high voltage infrastructure to insure continuous and reliable power delivery to the Warrick aluminum production areas. Supervise all Plant high voltage power operation, including system line-up, production center requirement, and collaborate with all areas of the plant. Develop and provide clear, concise switching orders for all system changes as well as provide direction for establishing electrical safe work zones for persons working near electrical hazards. Provide 24/7 failure response (in the event of a system issue, provide immediate response through in-house and contract resources to return system to support full efficiency in expedient manner). Provide detailed analysis on all high voltage related incidents. Lead capital budget initiatives for the high voltage power system (prepare funding requests, provide expenditure projections, implement actions, and track execution). Develop and implement multi-year maintenance plans. Own the design, rebuild, install and commission equipment including, but not limited to high current rectifier systems, transformers, high voltage switchgear, high voltage transmission line, and metering for the smelting aluminum plant (voltages include 138KV, 15KV, 4160V, and 480V) Safety Protocol SPA across the Warrick Enterprise - Power Plant, Smelter and Fabricating on electrical safety, high and medium voltage. Job Summary

We are seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineering Designer for our St. Louis location.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Design basic electrical systems in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other MEP disciplines, including Fire Protection and Architecture.

  • Coordinate with the designs of other trades (architectural, engineering / internal, and external) under the guidance of more senior technical staff.

  • Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer.

  • Learn drawing organization and company standard.

  • Support the design and engineering efforts of systems for new installations, system retrofits, system replacement, and system upgrades for a wide variety of projects and project types.

  • Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assignments.

  • Assist engineers with field investigations and construction site visits to observe and attend project coordination meetings.

Qualifications:

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.

  • 0-3 years' experience, preferably in an Engineering/Consulting/Design Firm environment.

  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.

  • Fundamental experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing electrical lighting, power, and special systems designs.

  • Strong verbal and written skills- ability to interface with colleagues, clients and external partners.

  • Ability to travel as for client development and project execution.

  • Previous Engineering Internship Preferred.

  • MS Office Suite Proficiency: AutoCAD and Revit experience is preferred.
