This role collaborates closely with project engineers to design and implement electrical, power, and control systems for capital projects. In addition, the engineer works with plant and maintenance managers to troubleshoot and repair existing electrical and control systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.This position encompasses the full lifecycle of electrical, power, and automation systems, including design, development, and implementation as part of large scale capital improvements. The engineer will also help establish and maintain company wide standards for PLCs, HMIs, wiring diagrams, and general electrical work. A key focus is on ensuring the efficiency and reliability of process controls and electrical circuits throughout the plants.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in process controls, power and infrastructure, capital project execution, and cross functional collaboration. Success in this role requires a hands on approach, technical expertise, and the ability to work effectively across engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.Main Responsibilities Capital Project Support: Develop electrical, power, and control designs for equipment related to capital projects. Assist in project budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessments. In coordination with the project manager, oversee installation, budgeting, and startup of electrical and control systems for new equipment. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to meet project.Develop Plans and Specifications: Create and review specifications, control system architectures, and electrical designs for new and modified process equipment. Prepare and review drawings, including P&IDs, wiring diagrams, main power systems, and control panel layouts.Electrical Systems: Design control cabinet layouts, wiring schematics, and control loop drawings. Oversee in house or third party panel construction. Develop and execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for control systems.Equipment Startups: Participate in or lead system installations, start ups, commissioning, and ongoing support for electrical maintenance.Training: Support and train operations personnel to ensure efficient and effective plant operations.Reporting: Provide data and reports to the Director of Engineering. Collaborates closely with project engineers and operations teams.Safety: Follows and enforces all GMP, safety and plant rules.Other Duties: Partner with project engineers to support electric, power, and control system integration for capital projects. Assist the plant electrical department and complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Engineering. Qualifications/Required Skills Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field (B.S.) from a four year college or university. A Master's degree is highly desirable, but not required. At least three years related experience with emphasis in controls and electrical systems, specifically in the food and beverage industry. Demonstrated experience in capital project execution. Familiarity with power distribution, motor controls, instrumentation, and safety systems.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs.Computer Skills: Proficient is using Microsoft applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook. A working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Projects, and PDF editing software. Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMI systems, SCADA, and industrial networking (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens).Language Skills: Ability to read, comprehend, and compose instructions, correspondence, and emails. Exhibits effective speaking and written communication skills. Ability to conduct professional and compelling presentations and respond to questions from groups of equipment operators, managers, and senior executives within the Company. Effectively organizes and facilitates meetings.Reasoning Ability: Possesses strong analytical, quantitative, communication, problem solving, and technical skills.
