As a controls applications engineer, you will apply automation and networking products in a diverse set of industries including: printing and converting, packaging, machine tool, energy generation, and general automation. Job duties will include the following: Provide inside technical support to all CMAFH customers. Travel to customer facilities for pre and post-sales support including: project engineering meetings, live product demonstrations, system start-ups, and service calls. Size and quote motion control and industrial networking systems as requested by customers and/or CMAFH sales engineers. In house and on-site motion control and PLC programming for customer projects. Experience with popular programming languages like Python, Java, HTML 5, Node Red, C++, CoDeSys, IEC61131-3 a plus. Attend regularly sponsored vendor training programs in order to become proficient on all CMAFH product lines. With emphasis on machine and process control, networking and IOT products and projects. Participate in scheduled meetings to review: Problems / Opportunities at existing accounts and vendor product updates or introductions. Other projects and duties as assigned. The successful candidate will have a curiosity for how things work and a desire to fully develop their electro-mechanical abilities. Experience in Electrical Engineering and implementations, as well as a BS in Electrical Engineering or similar desired. Job Description

CMA/Flodyne/Hydradyne is a full-line automation components distributor (PLC's, Motion Controllers, Industrial Networking Solutions, Servo Motors and Drives, Linear Motion components, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics).   We operate four offices spread throughout Wisconsin and Illinois, and we are seeking an Application Engineer for our Hanover Park, IL location. 

As a controls applications engineer, you will apply automation and networking products in a diverse set of industries including: printing and converting, packaging, machine tool, energy generation, and general automation. 

Job duties will include the following: 

  • Provide inside technical support to all CMAFH customers. 
  • Travel to customer facilities for pre and post-sales support including: project engineering meetings, live product demonstrations, system start-ups, and service calls. 
  • Size and quote motion control and industrial networking systems as requested by customers and/or CMAFH sales engineers. 
  • In house and on-site motion control and PLC programming for customer projects. 
  • Experience with popular programming languages like Python, Java, HTML 5, Node Red, C++, CoDeSys, IEC61131-3 a plus.
  • Attend regularly sponsored vendor training programs in order to become proficient on all CMAFH product lines. With emphasis on machine and process control, networking and IOT products and projects. 
  • Participate in scheduled meetings to review: Problems / Opportunities at existing accounts and vendor product updates or introductions. 
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have a curiosity for how things work and a desire to fully develop their electro-mechanical abilities.
