Key Competencies: ● At least 5 years of product management experience, where you have a successful track record of delivering high value, impactful functionality ● Deep domain expertise in Payroll and Taxation with an expert understanding of US Payroll tax laws, including federal, state, and local tax regulations. ● Expert knowledge of HRIS systems specifically related to Payroll and HR action workflows ● Experience with quarterly and year-end filing workflows: 941, 940, W-2, W-3, 1099, and ACA reporting. ● Familiar with electronic file formats (e.g., SSA EFW2, BSO, state-specific files) and bulk e-file submission models for large client groups. ● Deep user empathy and appreciate the value of continuous discovery ntrepreneurial spirit. Has shipped products from ideation through delivery while in rapid growth mode. Gilead Sciences La Verne Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Senior Manager, Project Management New Product Line Manufacturing - Labeling, to lead New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts for the La Verne site inspection and packaging areas. This role includes installing equipment on one Manual Packaging Line (MPL), two Solid Dose Packaging Lines (SDLs), and two Vial Packaging Lines (VPLs). The individual in this position will work directly with key stakeholders from multiple departments and sites (including the corporate office in Foster City), coordinating their activities. This ensures that New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, from clinical to commercial stages, meet global technical transfer timelines, comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and satisfy internal customer expectations. Key Responsibilities: Program Management: Lead and manage multiple, concurrent clinical and commercial NPI projects impacting the inspection and packaging areas and equipment. Define and understand product transfer scope, timelines, and demands from PNGC or PPSC endorsement through manufacturing and release, coordinating resources from the La Verne site to meet objectives. Quality and Compliance Oversight: Ensure product transfer team can deliver products to meet compliance with regulatory requirements, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Safety regulations, and other relevant standards. Facilitate necessary gap assessment with the SMEs from La Verne or from the global sites. Work Plan Development: Develop comprehensive work plans for each product transfer in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Technical Services, Packaging, Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), Validation, Supply Chain, Regulatory/CMC, EHS, Finance, IT, and Engineering. Project Team Management: Oversee and manage daily workflow of the project team, ensuring that milestones are met and any potential risks or delays are proactively addressed. Milestones can be ranging from machine line trials, installation/debug/startup, Acceptance Testing and Commissioning (ATC), and PPQs (commercialization ready), and product runs/studies for any follow-up measures per the regulatory feedback/demands. Task Tracking and Escalation: Track the status and completion of critical tasks, such as procurement, documentation, and studies, to ensure milestones are achieved. Escalate issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution. Cross-Functional Guidance: Utilize knowledge in inspection and packaging processes and equipment to provide guidance and support for global, cross-functional discussions, ensuring alignment of decisions to meet project objectives. Stakeholder Representation: Represent the La Verne cross-functional team in NPI-focused meetings with corporate stakeholders, facilitating communication and bridging any gaps in understanding between corporate and site personnel. Project Review and Leadership: Lead regular project review meetings with cross-functional representatives, ensuring projects are on track and addressing any deviations promptly. In this Senior Product Manager (Tax Management) role you'll join a team responsible for building our new Tax Management platform. You're an expert in all things Tax related, HR activities/actions, and HRIS systems.

Responsibilities:

A successful Senior Product Manager (Payroll / HR) in this role will have a fantastic combination of general software management and HR domain experience with a customer-centric, business-focused mindset. You must have great communication skills and be able to collaborate across all areas of the company. You can quickly identify customer / market problems and initiate a comprehensive discovery process to drive product definition and design of future deliverables. You will work closely with a dedicated engineering team to ensure they understand the "what" and "why" before the "how" is considered.

● Bring positive energy, initiative, and collaboration to our talented Product & Design team where you will partner with skilled UX Designers and detail-oriented Product Analysts.

● Drive the Tax Management functional vision and product evolution strategy

● Build and maintaining a centrally located 12-month roadmap and details

● Discover, define, and translate customer needs into a prioritized product backlog of roadmap candidates

● Establish and cultivate great customer, partner, and user relationships to help create continuous feedback loops

● Frequently communicate product strategy, plans, and schedules to company stakeholders

● Work closely with Product Marketing, Sales, and other Business Unit leaders to ensure go-to-market needs are met and properly prioritized.

● Participate in the Product Portfolio Planning process to ensure we're constantly refining the priorities based on the business opportunities.

Key Competencies:

● At least 5 years of product management experience, where you have a successful track record of delivering high value, impactful functionality

● Deep domain expertise in Payroll and Taxation with an expert understanding of US Payroll tax laws, including federal, state, and local tax regulations.

● Expert knowledge of HRIS systems specifically related to Payroll and HR action workflows

● Experience with quarterly and year-end filing workflows: 941, 940, W-2, W-3, 1099, and ACA reporting.

● Familiar with electronic file formats (e.g., SSA EFW2, BSO, state-specific files) and bulk e-file submission models for large client groups.

● Deep user empathy and appreciate the value of continuous discovery

BONUS Experience / Skills:

● Deep understanding of PEO operating models, especially co-employment structures, and how these impact tax filing responsibilities.

● Familiarity with multi-EIN payroll processing, including EIN mapping to SUI/SIT jurisdictions, tax rates, and filing obligations.

● Experience building or managing products used by HR outsourcing providers, ASOs, or staffing organizations.

● Knowledge of client-level GL configuration, tax account hierarchies, and client-specific tax setups in PEO environments.

● Experience with Pragmatic Institute's (or equivalent) Product Management framework
